But it got them 3 SC appointments. And prevented a second Clinton presidency. And set progress back at least four years. And changed the terms of the debate. The GOP just barely lost, in two short years they stand a very good chance of taking back both chambers. They still have the left wing of the opposition to rail against and to frighten white America with. The deplorables will not abandon them. The Proud Boys are still disgruntled and the security apparatus is still riddled with their supporters.

The electorate is not at fault. Trump is at fault for his behavior and his supporters are at fault for theirs.

The point is that now that the insanity is out in the open, a conviction on the impeachment could happen. It would only take 17 GOP senators to vote for conviction.
