So the guy wearing the fur and horn viking hat eats only organic? Wait until he finds out how many TV channels there are.

Bill Belichick Rebuffs Trump’s Presidential Medal Offer

Kudos to him!

The most scandal plagued NFL coach turns down the most corrupt president. Just shows the value of the trump brand.

Oh well, President Putin has accepted his medal.

Ashli Babbitt remains a mystery to me. As a military trained individual, she should have known better than to go with the mob during the breach.

Just proof that the US military will accept recruits of lesser intelligence.

An early news report about her said that after all her years in the Air Force (including active duty, Reserve, and Guard), the rank she had "most recently attained" was Senior Airman.  That's an E-4, folks.  You can make that within 2-3 years, depending on circumstances upon enlistment.  That tells me that she was likely a SrA more than once.  I won't speculate on why she left AD and went into the reserves, and later into the ANG, but usually going from AD to the other components makes it easier to get promoted.  It would be polite to simply conclude that she was not what we'd consider a stellar airman.

man, she rocks.  one of my mentors in the industry.  she used to take half a day at derbycon every year and make root beer floats for attendees.  she's an incident response specialist in scada systems.  also a blackbelt in three disciplines, and ran a gun range in chicago (before covid).

All true and point taken but here is an article from "Responsible Statecraft" dated just pre-pandemic.

"on Monday Trump’s campaign released a letter signed by over 230 retired generals and admirals supporting the  president’s policies and condemning Joe Biden. Their sentiments echoed the president’s greater talking points on the trail: “With the Democratic Party welcoming to socialists and Marxists, our historic way of life is at stake.” The letter continues:"

Aside from the obvious traditional support due to military budget funding by the GOP. There has been support by the most infamous general Michael Flynn, traitor to America. But America is not alone because other NATO allies are dealing with populists with fascist inclinations. That being Turkey and Poland.

The founding fathers of America recognized this and did the Roman senate well before christ. Thankfully generals like Mattis and others do their best to keep the US military professional and apolitical. Apolitical by refusing to overtly support parties and politicians. But who at the same time should have well developed political consciousness.

Dan Rather on FB:

Quote

The hypocrisy of the Trump thuggery can be epitomized by a seditious rioter beating a police officer at the Capitol with an American flag. It was never about the flag, or “blue lives matter.” These were mere props in a movement fueled by power, injustice, and racism.

Kinda funny (not really) how when black men murdered police during the BLM 'time' a few years back, none of them survived being arrested. EVERY one died. In Dallas, the cops used (and destroyed) a fairly expensive remote control 'robot' to deliver an explosive that killed the suspect.

In the wake of this attack, nobody has been arrested specifically for the murder. Yet.

It does appear that Ron got one thing right. The Law enforcement and military who were supposed to 'protect and defend' were at least derilict in their duty, if not complicit in the attack.

One has committed suicide. One's been arrested (it's not been released if it was due to behavior during the attack) and 2 have been suspended (including the one who took the selfie with the insurrectionist):

So the horns & furs idiot was kicked out of the Navy for refusing a vaccination:

Sure, if it's not fake news, but I'm sure his mother loves him and the neighbors never saw him kicking a cat. Maybe counseling, a non GMO diet, and some positive vibes could turn this valuable young mans life around.

"Rendall Brock Jr., a retired Air Force Reserve lieutenant colonel, was arrested on Sunday in Texas after he was seen carrying flex-cuffs, wearing a Kevlar, and rocking military patches on his body armor inside of the Senate chamber at the U.S. Capitol."

From that same story, nothing like wearing your drivers license on your arm during an insurrection.

Hopefully we have space in the jails.

1) this was from September (just putting into context) -- not part of the events of this thread.

2) I went to the link with the .pdf of this release from the campaign.  I know two of those retired Marines -- one to whom I still send holiday cards.  I would be really shocked if they actually were a part of language like that (I'm not saying they weren't, only that I would be shocked).

If someone posted a real version -- say, with a date at the top, perhaps some kind of header, and the actual signatures -- and if it were sourced to be FROM the group (not the campaign), I would be less skeptical.
