Is Donald trump Trying to Lose the Georgia Senate Election?

Recommended Posts

Control of the Senate is but four days away.

"trump has been undermining the Republican party as it battles to win two Senate seats in Georgia. He has, in effect, been behaving as though he were a secret Democratic campaign operative. So outlandish have his actions been that they surpass any dirty tricks that the Democratic party could ever have envisioned....Trump has also been busily denouncing Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a former acolyte of Trump’s, as a traitor. On Thursday, Trump tweeted: “@BrianKempGA, his puppet Lt. Governor @GeoffDuncanGA, and Secretary of State, are disasters for Georgia."

Latest Polls Of The Georgia Senate Runoffs. Show democrats leading in most polls for both races. A complete flip since the presidential election.

As the last vestiges of the trump/GOP titanic begin to slip beneath the waves. trump's erratic behavior, the floundering of the GOP as they supported his false election fraud claims. Have driven even more true republicans away.

Now the lack of respect for the covid virus has forced:

"Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., will start to quarantine after someone on his re-election team tested positive for Covid-19, his campaign said Thursday.

The move will force him to miss crucial time on the campaign trail just days ahead of his runoff Tuesday against Democrat Jon Ossoff.... He had planned to rally with President Donald Trump ahead of Election Day, but he will be off the trail as polls show a close race."

If 2020 was the year of covid, of Lucifer and of the confirmation that trump is a real loser.

2021 is starting off right^.^

no one cares. trump isint even a thing anymore. he's long lost and in two weeks he wont even have a job anymore.

The Post says: Give it up, Mr. President — for your sake and the nation’s. Was the story quoted in SC before. Its author one of Murdoch's "journalist" stooges. Went on several major network shows. He stated the same think you have done in SC. He went on to say that if the media and people would just stop talking about trump he would fade away on his own.

trump is like penicillin proof gonorrhea. Until the hosting body dies he will still be dangerous, be a menace to society. Did communism die with Lenin?

Do you think he will stop fundraising? Honestly? Do you think he will stop his agenda and won't take Stephen Miller with him? Honestly? Do you think his ego will suddenly vacate his mind?

A scant six weeks ago more Americans voted for him than have ever voted for any president before that. Do you think that ideology will go away? That Biden will end trumpism? Every single political ideal of trumpism is still manifest in those that voted for him. Those followers are still looking for a messenger, for him, or someone like him. So the trump/Miller agenda can live on.

Don’t worry there are patriots in the Georgia hills who are armed and ready to make sure SHTF.

Maybe they will be heading down to the polling stations in Atlanta to ensure all non whites have suitable ID, bible and MAGA hat :)

No, but I also dont give a shit what he does. He is irrelevant at this point. The future is moving on and he's not a part of it. In two months he wont even be in the news anymore. Yes, there are lots of idiots / selfish people. However, Trump dident create that. That already existed before Trump. Racism, hatred, selfishness, ect. All of that existed before Trump. Trump just made it easier for people to come out of the closet about it, but they still felt the way they felt prior to him.

Also, not everyone who voted for Trump is part of the 'Trumpism'. Some people voted for Trump simply becasue they dont like Biden or becasue they dont want the tax increases that commonly come with democrats (which is honestly a really valid point). Democrats arnt exactly a god send either. I could write a book about all the issues that exist with the Democratic party and why you'd possibly prefer not to vote for them.

Point being that what Trump exposed already existed before him. I actually see that even here in skydiving. The total disregard for any COVID precautions, which is the norm at most DZs including many of the big-name ones, tells me exactly what I need to know--people in general just dont give a shit about anything but themselves, they are lazy, and they would rather believe convenient lies than hard truths. This has always been true and it shouldent come across as new news to anyone. This pandemic is just making it easier to see these things, that is all.

He will do everything he can to stay in the news. It feeds him. He was in it regularly before, and then he wasn’t an ex-President with millions of personal followers.

He’s not trying to lose the Georgia Senate race, because he doesn’t care who wins the Senate race. Republicans are just starting to find out what everyone else already knew - that Trump has absolutely no interest in anything that doesn’t directly benefit him personally, and that includes the future success and power of the GOP if he’s not at the head of it.

Pursuing a personal grudge against a couple of individual Rs is important to him, and whether that helps or hinders the party as a whole is not even a consideration.

Yup.

It's not that he doesn't care about it.

It simply isn't part of his thought process.

He has shown repeatedly that EVERY decision he makes is based solely on what he can get from it.
In this case, the GA Gov & SecState defied him. They didn't support his ludicrous claims about 'election fraud'.
They refused to break the law for him.

So he's going to do whatever he can to punish & hurt them.

If that happens to hurt anyone else, too bad. He won't even see it.

Just an old sweet song (and two blue Senators) keeps Georgia on my mind.

It's amazing what can happen when the people push back against voter suppression and are actually motivated to turn out. Stacey Abrams for governor 2022!  If this holds up like it should it will be pretty sweet to see Moscow Mitch knocked down from his perch.

It would be even sweeter to see Moscow Mitch impeached for refusing to do his duty and bring Merrick Garland's nomination to a vote.

From Andy Borowitz:

Trump Declares Victory Over Republicans in Georgia

LOL!

Thanks for your repeated quotes of Andy's humor. He nails it.

As a side note the GOP pissed away over $260 million in advertising money for these two losses.

Thanks donald.

Just my luck "Scientists say that Earth is endangered by a new strain of fact-resistant humans." Can't be accessed because I've gone to their website too many times>:(

Its ok because the punch line conveys it all given the facts on the ground in SC.

A one-liner from Borowitz on FB just now:

Maybe Mitch McConnell will now have compassion for other people who have suddenly lost their jobs.

LOL!

Mitch has become the thing he hates most - a minority.

Ossoff need only 54% of the remaining votes, in order to exceed the margin which would allow the loser to request a recount.  Given the counties with remaining votes, that seem likely, if not assured.

I was just reading that because it is not an expired term Loeffler will remain a Senator until Warnock is sworn in. No doubt many delaying tactics will be tried in that contest. Ossoff may get there before Warnock.
