Another Trump court loss

And now

I wonder what SCOTUS will do with the Texas suit.  Can they just sit on it until it becomes moot?

1. Reject it without comment.

2. Reject it with some comment.

3. Consider it, then reject it with the usual extensive comment.

I'm expecting 1., or perhaps 2.

Looks like the fat lady really has sung now:

https://www.npr.org/2020/12/11/945617913/supreme-court-shuts-door-on-trump-election-prospects

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected an audacious lawsuit by Texas that had asked the court to throw out the presidential election results in four battleground states captured by President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.

The court, in a brief unsigned order, said Texas lacked standing to pursue the case, saying it “has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another state conducts its elections.”

The move, coupled with a one-sentence order on Tuesday turning away a similar request from Pennsylvania Republicans, signaled that the court has refused to be drawn into President Trump’s losing campaign to overturn the results of the election last month.

The suit - similar to other Trump team legal challenges, which made baseless allegations of widespread fraud in Georgia’s presidential election - was initially filed Dec. 4, then rejected by the Fulton County Superior Court because the paperwork was improperly completed and it lacked the appropriate filing fees.

The case was subsequently appealed directly to the state Supreme Court, asking justices to consider the case before Monday’s meeting of the Electoral College. In a brief order, justices wrote that “petitioners have not shown that this is one of those extremely rare cases that would invoke our original jurisdiction.”

It seems that the Deep State has gotten to all of these Trump lawyers.  How else can you explain all of the filing mistakes, baseless filings and other errors that would embarrass a pre-law student.

Because it's what the Trump administration has excelled at.

Their incompetence, in just about every aspect of the last 4 years of Trump, is abso-fucking-lutely amazing.

Fan-bloody-tastic use of the infix, an uncommon grammatical element in English.

Hi John,

Re:  'an uncommon grammatical element'

I don't know about that; but, it does seem as though Trump's 'uncommon' effort to overturn the election is catching on with down-ballot R's.

'Trump unleashes an army of sore losers'

Trump unleashes an army of sore losers - POLITICO

I guess is just too tough to say, 'I lost.'

Trump has brought true indecency to politics; he wasn't the first, but he is IMO the most objectionable.

While many of the suits in this thread are election related, it was started with a suit that an 'acting' secretary has limited powers.

On that note, Colorado is suing the Federal Government, claiming that the "Acting" Director of the BLM wasn't legally able to approve plans.
Like plans to expand drilling.

Quote

“The unfortunate fact is that if the Trump Administration had followed the law in appointing a Senate-confirmed nominee to lead the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Colorado and other western states would not be in this predicament,” said Polis in a statement announcing the lawsuit. “It is now Colorado communities and the state of Colorado who face unnecessary uncertainty and potential impacts to local recreation and outdoor industry jobs.”

With the 'funniest' part of it that the Rs held the Senate the entire time.
Getting people confirmed would have been fairly easy.

But McConnell was too interested in appointing judges.
And Trump was too stupid to care.

U.S. court deals final blow to Trump EPA's clean power rule replacement

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-climate-powerplants/u-s-court-deals-final-blow-to-trump-epas-clean-power-rule-replacement-idUSKBN29O2BO

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit decided unanimously to toss the Environmental Protection Agency’s Affordable Clean Energy rule, which constrained how carbon emissions from power plants are regulated, and remanded it to the agency, which will prioritize climate change under the incoming administration of President-elect Joe Biden.

The decision to strike down the rule was made by a three-judge panel comprised of two Democratic appointees and one Trump-appointed judge.

Georgia officials are suing Trump and the State GOP chair.
They want the attorney's fees for the 'baseless and frivolous' lawsuits paid for.

Only $17k, but it's only 2 counties. There are a lot more, and apparently some of them are considering similar suits.

It would be kinda funny if every one of those stupid suits resulted in a similar claim.

There's a golden statue of him at a convention where the stage is laid out in the shape of a Nazi symbol.
Trump took the stage, and gave a speech.
Not surprisingly, that speech was full of shit.

Take your pick:

To think he's simply going to go away is pretty silly. A

And dangerous.

Good for them. And in the entire history of the USA, only four presidents did not serve a 2nd term. Trump was the 4th. There is little chance that Biden wont win a reelection in 4 years. Trump is a non-issue.

who gives a shit, Trump was hardly even worth talking about when he was president. Now he's just an unemployed rando. He's history and not even remotely worth wasting brain power on.

The entirety of your post is horseshit. Stating "He's history" is just ridiculous. He is still here. He still wields power over his throng. He still can and is affecting the political process in America.

Thats like saying the GOP is a non-issue.

You keep saying this over and over. And every time you do it just hammers home the fact that for you he is an issue.

A while back there were musical devices that used a spinning piece of plastic. Occasionally they would malfunction and repeat the same verse over and over. There was no fixing the issue.
