It appears the fat lady has sung.

I lost and so did the patriotic Americans. The country remains almost equally divided. We have 50% of the people as dedicated true believers, pick a side, same-same. To paraphrase Joe Weber, we have the United States of Socialist Republics and the Patriotic States of America.

It truly felt good to be on the offensive these last four years. Now, I/we will go back to our defensive position and hiding in plain sight.

We lost most of our back channel comms but based on the last ones, I am holding on to a very slim fantasy of hope.

My peer group is concerned about violence coming to our area. They fear the gangs from Atlanta will feel empowered to spread out to the rural country. If they do, we are ready.

How are you Electoral College opponents feeling now? It worked in your favor this time. BTW, good call billvon on the Trump number.

I have Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to guide me as always. So, I remain faithful and thankful. All of this political turmoil is predicted in Biblical prophecy. And, it will get worse until Jesus returns. Personally, I hope the Rapture comes in my lifetime.

So, to my enemies, I congratulate your victory. Just keep in mind, we are not going away.

What? Biden won BOTH the electoral college and the popular vote (by almost 5 million). So yes, get rid of the EC and Trump still loses.

Because of people like you who think that way.

You were concerned about violence coming to your area during Trump's Presidency too. You've been afraid for as long as you've been posting here.

The same. The only thing the EC has achieved in this election is giving Trump multiple avenues to spread lies and conspiracy theories about vote counting in close races. Without the EC it wouldn't matter which way the late counted postal votes in Georgia were breaking, for example.

Why do you think other Americans are your enemies? Why do you hate America?

I think the Electoral College is an awful system that at BEST muddies the vote for President and I would vote for anyone who ran on a platform of getting rid of it. Same as I always have.

Heres the thing though. Biden still would have won if the electors college was replaced with a equal vote system. Trump wouldn’t have in 2016.

Also, the patriots have just taken the US back.

How do you know that?

Nonsense. Very few Republicans admire Obama, and very few Democrats admire Bush (except in comparison to Trump). Trump will continue to be praised as a godlike figure by vast swathes of his supporters for years to come. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Republican 2024 platform promises a return to the Trump glory days.

I guess technically Trump could run for president a second time in 2024. I dont think the constitution disallows a single term president from becoming president a second time. What a freaking show that would be...

In US politics the incumbent has a huge advantage; It is very difficult to unseat one. Trump is such a fuckup that he lost both the popular vote and the EC, even with the incumbency advantage. It would be ridiculous for the party put back him again.

History not your strong suit?

Look up Grover Cleveland.

Theodore Roosevelt tried to do it too, but failed.

He'll make a big song and dance of hinting repeatedly that he's running again, but just to use it as a fund-raising grift.

Yup. One thing he did was to declare his candidacy the day he was inaugurated.
Doing so allowed him to use campaign funds to pay for his own legal expenses.
Which was important for him, because he's so broke he can't pay for them himself.

Hi Joe,

After FDR was elected four times, the Congress decided to do something about it.

I do not know what the act was called but it says that a person cannot serve as POTUS for more than 10 yrs in total.

For example, should Harris succeed Biden due to resignation or death, if it were after two yrs of Biden being in office, then she could run and be elected as POTUS two times.  If it were before Biden had served two yrs, then she could only run and be elected once.

The act did not apply to Truman, the POTUS at the time. *

Jerry Baumchen

* Truman could have ran again in 1952.

Right. The 22nd Amendment.

Much more than 'congress deciding to do something'.
A real amendment to the Constitution.

And yes, two terms or 10 years total. LBJ could have run again in 68, had he chosen to do so. He just chose to not 'run if nominated, or serve if elected'.

Hi Joe,

'The 22nd Amendment.'

Thanks for the additional info,

Ron, I think you have taken great license to paraphrase my comments in that manner. Something you need to understand is that it is we who are the patriotic Americans. We support the rule of law and the constancy of our democracy and republic. You, and your fellow believers, supported the reduction of the rule of law in America, the erosion of our communal faith in our electoral system, the derision of our international treaties, and a blind eye snubbing of the Constitution of the United States of America for nothing more than short term monetary gain and a desired elimination of rights for a large swath of your fellow citizens. It is good that you and yours have lost for what you have wished to be visited on your fellow citizens is nothing short of evil. I have no clue how long we will hold the upper hand but I hope our new leaders have the stones to make the best of the opportunity. And do yourself a big favor and just relax. You aren't about to be attacked; there are no monsters under the bed or in the closet.

The reality is that the red states are socialist takers sucking at the teat of the prosperous and thriving dynamic cities of the blue coastal states that drive the US economy forward and pay the bill for the social programs you enjoy. As Joe has pointed out more than once. Just how is it patriotic to be a taker?

I'm getting a good laugh out of watching the GOP leader types squirm as they try to figure out if they dare defy the wounded first family and its ridiculous demands to pretend that lawsuits could somehow alter the outcome. The Dotard is so used to delaying and getting his way by wearing down people and abusing the court system. He may actually hope American democracy can be subverted if he can just throw enough lawyers on it. He still has weak people in his party fearing him, but waiting and watching for the chance to put the knives into his back.

Well, 48% of the voters at least, which means about 21% of the people in the US.

Good to be concerned about something I guess.  You're probably more likely to be hit by a meteor, but you can fret about anything you like.

Nope.  The electoral college works in your favor when you lose the popular vote and win the electoral vote, as Trump did.  This time Biden won both.  Without the electoral college - he would still be president.

Sorry you consider me your enemy.  I do not consider you an enemy, just someone I disagree with.  You are still an American at the end of the day, just like many of the rest of us.

THE FACTS: AP Fact Check 2017

"Connecticut residents paid an average of $15,643 per person in federal taxes in 2015, according to a report by the Rockefeller Institute of Government. Massachusetts paid $13,582 per person, New Jersey paid $13,137 and New York paid $12,820.

California residents paid an average of $10,510.

At the other end, Mississippi residents paid an average of $5,740 per person, while West Virginia paid $6,349, Kentucky paid $6,626 and South Carolina paid $6,665.

Low-tax red states also fare better when you take into account federal spending.

Mississippi received $2.13 for every tax dollar the state sent to Washington in 2015, according to the Rockefeller study. West Virginia received $2.07, Kentucky got $1.90 and South Carolina got $1.71.

Meanwhile, New Jersey received 74 cents in federal spending for tax every dollar the state sent to Washington. New York received 81 cents, Connecticut received 82 cents and Massachusetts received 83 cents.

California fared a bit better than other blue states. It received 96 cents for every dollar the state sent to Washington.

On average, states received $1.14 in federal spending for every tax dollar they sent to Washington. That’s why the federal government has a budget deficit."

Thats your "socialism" as defined by the GOP in America.

The EC promotes  tyranny of the minority.

Trump is the loser despite the EC, not because of it.

It's sad, not funny.

A pathetic attempt by the Trumpettes to spin the narrative, again.

And it's failing.

The media is finally calling them on it. Asking for real evidence, some sort of proof. And there's nothing.
Nothing but vague allegations.

It's a legitimate fear as they see life's important things. Trump has 70 million voters to deploy against anyone who is a perceived enemy. They see him with a post office media platform (I'm hoping for a post office picture) and fear for their seats, nothing else. Patriots my ass.

Man featured at Giuliani press conference is a convicted sex offender

The first person Rudy Giuliani, the attorney for President Donald Trump, called up as a witness to baseless allegations of vote counting shenanigans in Philadelphia during a press conference last week is a sex offender who for years has been a perennial candidate in New Jersey.

It is starting to come into focus what that horrible man is going to do now. He knows he has lost. But he is going to appeal to his supporters to send him more money to fight on. Then he is going to continue to insist that the election is fraudulent. He will do everything he can to sow discord and to keep the USA in a state of disunity for his glory. Q will continue and some of it's adherents will plan violent actions. They will justify it as working to undo the stolen election.

God help America
