Jerry Baumchen 45% of trump voters voted for him for his performance regarding the economy. Evidently there were six trillion reasons why their children shouldn't want that. He opposes those who right wing media has defined as the enemy. Simple as that. The more sane Trumpies think that means opposing Nancy Pelosi and her "socialist takeover of the US" or whatever today's meme is. The less sane ones think that means stopping Hillary Clinton from drinking the blood of the children she tortures and sells to pedophiles. And pull media allows anyone who believes any of the above theories to get all the "evidence" they need to support it.

JerryBaumchen 1,039 #179 November 6, 2020 Hi folks, By now, almost everyone knows that Trump lies all of the time. However, I noticed he was recently very truthful: "I’ve said very strongly that mail-in ballots are going to end up being a disaster,” he said. “It’s getting worse and worse every day." https://apps.npr.org/liveblogs/20201103-election/ Sometimes the truth hurts. On that excursion we stayed in a room on the second floor of the station above the common area in the terminal. Dip toilet and shower, etc. Not recommended by Conde' Nast as I recall but only 2 bucks. Below, sleeping on the floor, was an Indian Army unit of at least a couple hundred soldiers. At 4 AM all hell broke loose outside on the track side. I looked out to see the unit's brass band marching up and down the platform out of step and sync but blowing and beating with a vigor. The dosa's were extra good that morning.

headoverheels 289 #184 November 6, 2020 Looks highly likely that PA is going to Biden. He may not end up with much of a lead, maybe 20k vote or a bit better. I'm heading to bed early -- ski pass requires reservations to ski this season (covid restrictions), so I need to be at my computer before 6am, when the reservations window opens. I've heard that they have sold more season passes than usual this year, maybe because only pass holders can reserve ahead before December 8, so getting Christmas week may be iffy. From Heather Cox Richardson: Quote His legal team has been filing lawsuits to challenge ballot counting, but the suits are frivolous, and keep getting thrown out. They are designed not to win legal points, but rather to do what Trump has always done politically: create a narrative that makes his supporters believe something that is not true. So, for example, his team has sued to have Republican observers in ballot counting areas, only to have to admit to a judge that they already have observers there. They are not righting a wrong; they are trying to set Trump’s supporters up to believe a lie. The election officials weren't 'keeping Republican observers from watching'. Trump was flat out lying. As he's done over and over in the past. And the gullible fools fall for it. Again.

While he tries to paint himself as a winning martyr and the victim of socialist fraud. Federal inaction to address covid will soon be killing 2,000 a day. Pence might do something in that battle but IMO trump will cling to the presidency till the marines drag him from the WH. Naturally with Presidential Executive Orders flying off his desk till the last second.

gowlerk 1,889 #195 November 6, 2020 Sigh......It now appears that the "deep electorate" has been able to accomplish what the deep state was unable to. Namely restore decency to the highest office of the USA. But just barely. Congratulations and condolences to shell shocked winners and inconsolable losers. The badly wounded animal holed up in his cage spitting and hissing at the world will still retain considerable power. But he was never a lion and never a fighter but rather a cowardly opportunist and bully. In the end his self preservation instincts will kick in and he will crawl away licking his wounds. gowlerk 1,889 #197 November 6, 2020 (edited) The Trump clan is now demanding that "real Rs" who want to stay in good standing and compete for the future must join the dotard in his lies about the election being stolen from him. So far the party members seem to have their noses up in the air trying to sniff out which direction to turn. They are remaining silent for now because they can smell the blood. Trying to heal all the damage done by Trump over the last four years will be less funny, of course. I saw some funny stuff today, too. It just took me a while to realize what was going on. I saw people who were smiling, and seemed worried, but far less wound up and tense. We've all been hit over the head by Trump's antics for four years and it took everyone a while to realize the hammer was no longer coming down on our heads. A slight apprehension remains that will disappear right around January 20th. I have to say that I am flat-out proud of Americans turning out to vote democracy back IN, in the numbers they did. Everyone knew turnout would be heavy, but I don't think anyone expected the number of people who voted. I still believe that Trump, had he NOT bad-mouthed mail-in voting and instead assured his supporters that such voting was perfectly safe, and encouraged them to vote that way if they couldn't show up in person...he would probably have won a second term. It was the final lie he tried to foist off on people that doomed him. I call it poetic justice. He's not out yet, Robert. If we do get him out the next step is simple: grate his fat ass into dust like a block of parmesan cheese. Then, and only if you must, breath a sigh of relief but we are a long, long way from that moment. We need to stay focused.
