Ohhh - I see now.  Its a mispronunciation and misspoken word.

Like these . . .

Playing catch-the-verbal-gaffe with either Trump or Biden is kind of like playing whack-a-mole, only less satisfying. There's always another one popping up, and they're about as meaningful. Just consider the classic COVFEFE.

Playing catch-the-thought-gaffe is more useful. Like the current apparent friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell, the "there are good people" doubled down on (yes, there are, but the fact that they're otherwise good isn't the point when we're talking about a white supremacist driving into a crowd), and others.

Seems to me that George Bush made a spelling mistake at a school. IMO thats why debates are useless. Reagan had some good one liners in debates. But his ability to develop rapport made him a great president.

Good debates can show an ability to think on your feet, and to respond to cogent questions on agreed topics. It's kid of like asking the candidates to play by the same verbal and intellectual rules for awhile.

Unfortunately that's not how presidential debates are conducted.

I don't know, whack-a-mole never made me laugh as hard as I just did.  Lol, the thing.

That one was just about as good as "you can't get fooled again."

I was essentially agreeing with you. "We gotta get out of this place."

You were/are living on a yacht in the Caribbean. I am living in the mountains.

I believe that we and others are sensing what is coming and it ain't gonna be good.

There is no life style equivalency. You have excluded yourself from society. You've parked yourself at the end of the road and have a prepared bolt hole even deeper into the woods. You do not desire engagement with those who might look or think differently than you. Not so I. Be it on my boat, at home or in other travels my life is organized to engage with people from other societies and those with different lifestyles. In the last week we've had long dinners packed with vigorous political discussion with a Swedish couple, a French couple and a local from Curacao. Tomorrow is a communal dinner at a long table with +/-25 folks from everywhere. Last week there were Romanians, Brit's, Aussies, local business people, you name it. I very seriously recommend that you do something similar be it only on a local level or not. Maybe get on some other forums that are international in nature. Whatever it takes but for Christ's sake don't mention Christ or SHFT for a while.

Meh, move to the inner city and live among the indigents for awhile.  Then I'd be impressed.

My brother lives in Chicago (northern end, I'll admit). I'd move to Portland in a heartbeat.

One of our local towns is going through a systematic review of its laws looking for inherent racism and economic-ism. They're getting outside help from people recommended by local activist groups. It won't be perfect, but they're at least trying to see.

This is a town with a high school that had a racist incident (grafitti) a couple of years ago at the high school.

Thanks for the tip but pretty much I had my fill of that growing up in East San Jose. So you know, it's not the cream of society every night. The guy from Curacao was to get more than just a local feel. I was after local intel. With the economy here on the ropes poor people do whatever they can to survive, as always. His new found occupation is black market fisherman. He gill nets in the marine park for Black Tip Sharks, Tarpon and Green Sea Turtles all of which are sold to the local Chinese. It was flat mortifying to sit there with a stupid grin biting my tongue while he explained the value Shark liver (it's reduced to oil) and live turtles which go in a second for 105 Guilders a Kilo plus tip. But, I wanted to know and now I do.

Are you sure?  From what I've seen from FOX News clips, downtown Portland is like the Middle East, with constant rioting, gunfire and fires.

Localized and very disturbing, but still mostly localized.

I have friends that live up there - they tell the true story.

Its about 60% to 70% of the way between Fox and CNN.

Hi Bill,

No fears, it is only the Deep State doing its thing.

PDX is still a great place to live. *

What do you do with the information you gather from these interactions? How do you apply it in you personal life?

There is just something about the name of Jesus Christ. It evokes a reaction, either positive or negative.

God sees you as the righteousness in Christ. To experience that you have to accept the atoning death of Christ as the propitiation for you sin.

Entering into a relationship with Christ will not stop the coming SHTF, but you will have the available guidance of the Holy Spirit if you have to live through it.

Either God's grace will carry you through or you will enter into eternal life in Christ. It is a win/win regardless.

I thought it all depended on a couple Larue AR-15's, ten cases of 5.56 and a couple barrels of dried beans?

Better off being muslim then. At least you get some virgins to play with after believing all that bullshit.

Trump's Yosemite gaffe brings towering sales to National Museum of American Jewish History

The museum has had a camp-themed t-shirt reading “Yo Semite” — a play on Yosemite National Park — on sale since 2011, and it wasn’t typically a big seller. The museum usually sold around 100 of the shirts annually, Kreider said. In the last three days, it has sold about 1,500 shirts, she said. The shop website even crashed at one point due to a spike in traffic, she added.

Personally?  It guides my morality and worldview.  I didn't know anything about how people in sub-Saharan Africa lived, and imagined they were all poor, ignorant people who lived in poverty and misery.  Then I spent a month there and learned they were some of the happiest people around.  When I told them I was a skydiver, one of the kids pantomined an entire RW skydive, including throwing a hand-deploy at the end and releasing the brakes.  They all spoke three languages.

I thought the US was a good influence there.  And I discovered in the cities and larger towns that everyone hated Americans, because they'd come in and steamroller over local businesses, homesteads and farms (often literally) in the name of profit.  "It never their fault" one guy told me, who explained that Americans always blamed their boss, or the shareholders, or the (Niger) government for whatever trouble they caused.

But when you got to the smaller towns, the only Americans people had seen were Peace Corps volunteers.  And they saw Peace Corps volunteers as sometimes misguided, sometimes clueless, but clearly there because they were trying to help.  And thus I was welcomed with open arms.

And that taught me that ultimately it's what you do, not what you say or what you profess to believe, that determines your morality and how you are seen by the world.

I thought I was "woke" and really understood people.  Then I managed a transgender woman and realized that I really didn't understand much of anything, and I never would, since I'm a straight cis middle aged white guy.  But that that was OK as long as I could accept that her point of view was as valid as mine - even if it didn't make sense to me.

I've known people who were great guys, would do anything for you, who turned out to be pedophiles.  I've known miserable people who would curse you and never say a good word about anyone - but years after they were gone, I found out they'd been supporting several families and paying for their kid's college education for no reason other than he thought they deserved a chance.  From that I learned to not judge people so quickly.

True of Barack Obama, too.   (Or as you preferred, Barack HUSSEIN Obama.)  But I bet you don't think that the reaction to his name defines his significance.

Gotta love how the ad before the video was a "Trump for Pres" one.

I hope you know that those ads are based upon trumps ad spending on you-tube to targeted geographic, demographic, areas of known trump support. Or prospective trump supporters based upon google tracking and your data profile.
