I have no sympathy for them, not one iota.  If they get turned out of office, they have deserved it.

If there's a huge Democratic wave this November, my main hope is that there isn't a lot of crowing, chest-thumping, and "I can do this because I have the power and will" crap.

That doesn't serve the country. Get to business, make the people who want to block irrelevant. And yes, grant interviews to Fox News as well. And I really don't want to hear about single-party congressional security briefings.

Hi Wendy,

In complete agree with one caveat:  Reversing the Trump disaster.

IMO it will take a bi-partisan effort.

Unfortunately that's exactly what will happen.  They will use Trump's newly-proclaimed powers of the president to "fix things."  And of course because it's human nature go too far in the other direction.

The democrats need to seize the middle ground of the political spectrum. Be friendly to business while advancing the environmental agenda. Protect the trump voters that lose their jobs because of shifting employment dynamics.Hold back on those that want the government to be all and do all. Recognize that republicans will re-organize, find new leaders and push back.

Make truth, science, ideals, integrity and engagement with the world. The new great America.

They are already there.  Clinton was about as business friendly as they come (and indeed was attacked for that; "in the pockets of Big X" was a common refrain.)  The only reason that democrats seem extremist is that republicans have moved so far to the right that there's a huge gap between the two parties.

Keep in mind that, today, Reagan would have been labeled a foreigner-loving socialist by the right wing.

If the democrats could somehow appeal to the God fearing church groups, there would be a "landslide victory."

Just sayin'.

Can He do this ? I thought the date was written in stone ?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-news-live-us-update-2020-election-coronavirus-latest-twitter-today-a9645266.html

Donald Trump has suggested for the first time that 2020's presidential election could be postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic, because he says - without evidence - that a nationwide mail-in ballot system would create "the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history."

Those comments come amid worsening economic figures showing that the US economy shrank by 32.9 per cent between April and June, making it the sharpest contraction since the second world war.

Hi John,

Re:  'Can He do this ?'

There are ways to change the date; but, I seriously doubt that it will happen.

Would require Congress. But that’s only the election date. There doesn’t appear a mechanism to change the inauguration date.

And OANN, too? Screw that. I hope there is a Blue Wave and a will to rub noses in doo-do. I hope they get after it with systemic change and to effective hell with the 38% moron base. Play to them but ignore them. I'd like to see the Supreme Court expanded as well as the Circuit Courts. Flat out reverse everything Tump and then work to make a rerun impossible. The country has survived with the majority being pissed off, I suspect it will survive with the Trumpies being pissed off.

I was pretty sure the American people would punish the Rs for nominating him last time. Not only did he win, but he carried both the House and the Senate on his coattails. I am left with hope, but no certainty of any blue wave. Polls are worthless.

For entertainment value alone, though, I am really looking forward to ant debates that might happen between Trump and Biden.

If Biden is smart he will bow out of any debates and invite Trump to take the stage alone and present his case.  Nothing would please Trump more - and nothing will do more damage to Trump's campaign.

I just don't see any point in a debate. How can you have a debate with someone who just spends the whole time Gish Galloping?

Agreed.  If I was Biden I'd get out on stage and say "Listen, I'd love to stick around with y'all and have a debate, but you all know my positions, and I've got some work to do on pandemic response planning.  Let's let my opponent - God bless 'im - talk to you all for a while, and then you can make up your minds without all this back and forth media nonsense."

On the flip side - how do you debate someone that can't string more than two thoughts together in a row.

- you figure out which one I'm referring to.¬¬

Hint - its not a prime number.
