Should Biden Get the Nomination in Light of an Apparent Sexual Assault

First, Jerry is just one person and not 'the left'. Second, It's easy to say as a hypothetical but I'm approximately 100% sure he wouldn't do it in reality.

On the other hand Trump, a well known criminal and self avowed sexual predator and serial assaulter of women was in fact elected. So there you have it, the gaping moral void of the right in one vote.

Hi jakee,

It was & is an exaggeration; anyone with a thinking brain would know that.

IMO virtually every election it is the choice of the lesser of two evils.

Biden was not my guy; but, he is now.

When I first voted for POTUS ( Nov 64 ) the choices were LBJ or Goldwater.  I was appalled.

In the fall of 63, TIME magazine did an extensive article on the 64 upcoming POTUS election.  They discussed how it would be a dichotomous choice of competing philosophies; i.e., Kennedy vs Goldwater.  Alas, it did not happen.

PS)  Hey, Keith ( BIGUN ), do you still feel that Trump is/was the better choice, now?

And, there you have it. The sanctimonious hypocrisy of the left in one sentence.

You voted for trump with all the accusations and bragging about sexual assault and walking in on naked minors out in the open.

How could you possibly say anything about sanctimonious hypocrisy?

That was completely different.  In 2016 he was just voting for the least of two evils.

Do you not see the difference between someone saying that they don't care about, that even if a person raped multiple women (Assuming for the sake of analogy that the rape is true), and having an allegation?

BTW, that's not Biden, it's a doctored picture, the original subject was Mexican President Obrador.

Hi Sky,

As I posted some time ago, the silence from the Trump voters has been deafening.

Hmmmmm,

Do you not see the difference between saying something that was obvious hyperbole (since clarified to be so), and actually doing something?

If Biden really raped a bunch of women, Jerry would not vote for him. Republicans did vote for Trump, knowing what he is and what he claimed to be. What is more telling, actions or words?

Biden has also opened his records and filed for the release of ANYTHING with her name on it. (so far ZERO documents)

OK Trump, you're up.

Can you not see the sarcasm that Keith was using when he wrote the post?

If you think he was only being sarcastic why did you try and defend the point he was making?

Hi 434,

If he were being pushed around in a wheelchair ala Strom Thurmond I would vote for him over Trump.

If he raped 47 women in the bedroom of the Blue House, I would vote for him over Trump.

Anything else?

Bullshit.

If Biden actually committed the assaut, and it's not clear he did, then he would be an accused rapist. So is Trump. So that part's a wash.

However, I have yet to hear anything like:

Credible accusations of being involved with the East coast mafia for construction projects.
Credible accusations of laundering money for the Russian mob.
Using his "Charitable Foundation" to pay a porn star to keep quiet.
Getting barred by a court of law from operating his "Charitable Foundation" after using it as a personal piggy bank. (wasn't there some criticsm about the Clinton Foundation?)
Being married 3 times and cheating on all three wives (wasn't there some criticism about HRC staying with Bill despite his cheating?)
Creating a fake "University" to con people out of money.
Bribing two states' attorneys general to make fraud charges about the "University" go away.
Bribing a Manhattan DA to make felony real estate fraud charges against two of his kids go away.
Callng a brutal despot a 'great guy' and gushing about how much he loved him. Plus giving said tyrant a personal visit, thus greatly enhancing his stature.
Arbirtrarily ending an international agreement, despite the protests of ALL the other countries involved. Then committing an act of war against the main country in that agreement.
Calling Nazis & KKK "very fine people".

I could go on and on and on and on.

But to pretend accepting Biden's accusation of sexual assault when most folks find it abhorrent is 'hypocrisy' is to ignore the fact that even if Biden did rape that woman (and a bunch of others), he's way, way, waaaaaaaaaay ahead of the Mango Mussolini in the 'behavior' department.

Yet some people here will refer to these criminal facts as hate for Trump.

I'm continually stunned at how much the republican party has and will continue to allow him his efforts to destroy this country.

Mitch Mcconnell even does it with a child molester smirk.

America was amazing while it lasted.

You’re just a Trump hater! It’s fake news all of it!

First - Are these the metrics you now use to find your candidates? As long as they are slightly better than "this"?

Second - I see you too were sucked into the sarcasm.

Obviously not. The discussion (such as it is) is around factors that would automatically disqualify a candidate. Wherever you set that line it is by definition going to be short of the criteria you would use to try and find your best candidate.

Further than that, the two things don't even need to be related. For instance, the statement that no rapist is an acceptable candidate in no way indicates that the speaker thinks that any non-rapist is a good candidate. Not being a rapist simply means you are not disqualified from consideration, it doesn't factor at all into making a positive decision about who is suitably qualified.

For selecting where there is a large choice, then my metrics are a little more stringent. Where the choice is either A or B, then yes, slight differences can make a difference, even if it's between solid shit and messy shit.

After all, which diaper would you rather change?

We should get to the real discussion we're having but that covers it mostly.  Biden is going to be the candidate, the DNC is not going to withdraw him, there's simply no way to re-vote for a new candidate.  In the real world we would probably not hire this person to many roles if we knew there was a credible accusation of a sexual assault and this person was to be the face of our company.  So all we're left with is picking who we prefer between two people accused of sexual assault.

Hopefully neither will be in office 5 years from now.

I am confident that, with you, Wendy, that is very true.

As to the diaper . . . to me, it really depends on what the odor is.

Well, the diaper has to be changed. What're you going to do -- hand the baby off to the other parent, and say "take him -  he's yours now"
