Guest #1 Posted April 4, 2020 Opportunism doesn't get more deplorable than this: fake testing sites. I believe that if local LEs don't act quickly to deal with these scams, vigilantes will, and it won't end well for the scammers. https://amp.courier-journal.com/story/news/2020/03/31/coronavirus-test-sites-operate-without-louisvilles-knowledge/5100299002/

One of the very first things to happen when the outbreak started accelerating here was fake good samaritans going door to door to the elderly and vulnerable offering to get their shopping so they didn't have to be exposed to infection in the supermarkets, and instead stealing the cash or card details they were given. That's why the current stream of glossy movies and TV shows about conmen who exemplify cool and are like Robin Hood types taking from nasty guys who totally dserve it really annoys me. Real life scammers and grifters are the lowest of the low exemplifying nothing but cowardice, gaping abcesses of anti-morality targeting those who can least afford to lose.
Guest #4 April 4, 2020 (edited) Wow. I thought I had found the lowest. I wasn't even close. I really didn't have faith in my fellow man to begin with and after reading @jakee 's comments, I have even less. Bottom-feeders doesn't begin to name them properly. One can only hope that they get what's coming to them, in this world or the next. Opportunistic lowlife; if only they put as much time and effort into actually doing something worthwhile as they do being grifters. How sad. jakee 1,254 #6 April 4, 2020 Here's another phenomenal combination of malice and idiocy. Somehow, there seems to be a moronic conspiracy theory doing the rounds and being spread by some clueless celebrities and 'influencers' that Coronavirus is either caused or excerbated by... the new 5G mobile data network . Some other antisocial dickheads have then taken to enciting the terminally gullible fucknuggets into burning down their local 5G masts in order to fight the virus. And it's actually, really happening, and this isn't a joke. Ironically one of the earliest adopters of 5G capabilities has been the emergency services, with things like live video uplinks from paramedics so they can get real time assistance when attending critical cases. The kind of thing that's probably quite helpful right now. Oh well, at some some worthless trolls are having a giggle because they persuaded a bunch of imbeciles to go out and burn the world for them.

And who knows? 5G equals Huawei, and Hauwei equals China. Some people say some things about that you know.

Well, you don't have any source citations and a search doesn't reveal anything. Having said that, you'd be surprised at the number of people who see dollars during a disaster. I've had my share of newly formed ice & water distributors. Believe it or not - both need to be certified thru the GSA Process. In this case, someone pops up a newly formed N95 mask company - how are the masks certified? There is a process. When 3M & Honeywell can't ramp up fast enough to snap their fingers and produce 300 Million masks - you can be a newly formed distributor of anything, but if there's nothing to distribute . . . Just one of the many "newly formed" that will be dissolved as soon as this slows down.

But kind of like pornography (no clear definition, but I know it when I see it, according to Potter Stewart in 1964), most people can tell the difference between profiteering and simple taking advantage of a situation. It’s when the president exclusively steers business toward business that either profits him financially, or who contribute to his campaign and/or “image,” well, then it’s probably profiteering. And I’ll wait to see. If this new company studied all the federal supply regs and positioned themselves better than others — that’s business. Partisanship is assuming either the best or worst based solely on party or other affiliation. But, Bigun, you gotta admit that there is some history to justify suspicion here. Wendy P. Let's not forget that this is the president who used his family foundation as a personal piggy-bank. Has he ever done anything that did not result in personal gain for him? And I'm guessing that will soon include "opening the country for business", at the expense of soon to be dead old people, to get his properties kicking out cash again.
