Did the POTUS promise lower gas prices?

Having the country effectively shut down due to mismanagement of a health crisis  is an effective but not a totally appropriate way to reduce gas prices.

It's not like he had a better plan.

True dat!   Did he also promise to cut down on workplace and concert crime?  Cause that's happening too.

And Mexico is finally agreeing to shut down the border.  #TiredOfWinning

f so - he was right on that one.
took this just now.

He had nothing to do with it. They were headed down a couple of weeks ago when OPEC and Russia could not come up with a plan to hold up crude prices. But, you live in Texas and know this.

This was a "black swan" event, the unknown of the unknown.

Do you really believe that if it was handled differently,we wouldn't be locked down, that the economy wouldn't be at a standstill?

What I didn't hear in this conversation was the "second  black swan" event.

"A Price War" The House of Saudi vs. Mother Russia, both of them effectively cutting off their nose in spite of their face, who knows, maybe cutting their own throats. This will have pros and cons for the US and in the geopolitical arena.

On one hand, this benefits the hard hit consumers/families during these hard times, a big fat tax cut.

On the other,It could effectively bankrupt the very companies responsible for the American energy renaissance.

If the Presidents intuition about the therapeutic value of Chloroquine comes to pass, will you give credit.

Not really. He spouts unfounded things all the time. If it has some beneficial effect he will claim himself a genius. If not, he will say that he is not a doctor and some doctors said that it would work, but unfortunately they were wrong.

Even a blind squirrel finds a few nuts.

Fairly accurate. But he claims he's a genius rite or rong.

Weather forecasters should adopt the Trump style.

"The weather for tomorrow.
It might rain or maybe not, I have a hunch what it'll be, but, we'll see."

100% right everytime.

That IS what they do -

everytime.

It would be more accurate to predict Tornadoes

I don't know where you live, but out here forecasts are pretty accurate - both the public forecasts for things like rain and the aviation forecasts for flying/skydiving.  They are sometimes wrong, but are generally remarkably accurate.  If they predict 2000 foot overcast it might be 1000 feet, it might be 4000 feet - but you are going to see a lot of low clouds.

Hi Phil,

I read this recently:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Very_Stable_Genius

I can recommend it.

Jerry Baumchen

I wonder if Mattis, Tillerson, et al  are also documenting this time in American history. A decade from now there will be at least a dozen classic books. On how missteps, a cabinet of yes men and enablers. Led America to the brink of disaster and the years of sacrifice that it took to undo the damages.

You don't need to parenthesize Black Swan or "A Price War" for this group and one cuts off ones nose to spite their face. If you want to come off as smart put some more effort into the quest. That or have another fatty.

Texas, and they use percentages of probability here.

That way they cover their ass and don't get called out for lying.
