Contact tracing would have been amazing.

You just can't sell that to the american people that have this illusion of protected privacy.

The White House is doing extensive testing and contact tracing especially when the staffers got infected. Is it okay just for them?

About the american people not accepting it - well, I don't think they were even asked.

I have a friend doing contact tracing here in Mass. Yes, it can happen, and among other things it tells some interesting things about how and how easily COVID is transmitted. Even aid currents from restaurant ventilation systems can make a difference.

My point is if you did tell them - it would not go over well.

Snowden?

Then turtle stepped in saying that it was a lie to make Trump look bad. So I started a joke about other things people do to make Trump look bad.

SMH -

I never claimed that China was making a claim to make Trump look bad.

That's your own version.  I'm also not claiming they aren't.

What I said was that it is believed out of hand by the left IF it makes Trump look bad.

It's the same mindset that leads so many Americans to think owning a gun makes them safer, when the data show the exact opposite.  'Murica.

China doesn't have to make Trump look bad.  18,000 well documented lies, $27Million fines for fraudulent activities, bragging about pussy grabbing, paying a fixer to pay off a porn star . . .  these are what makes Trump look bad to anyone who is paying attention, left or right.

OK - so?

That doesn't have any bearing whatsoever on my statements.

We're talking about Wuhan.  How long do you think it takes to administer a test?  Five minutes?  If you worked at this for  24 hours one person can do 288 tests in one day.  You'd need 3,820 people performing one test every 5 minutes for 24 hours to hit 1,100,000 per day.  There are some fairly large assumptions in those numbers, not the least of which is getting 1.1 million people to stand in line.  Maths.

Standing in line - the US eats about 6 million McDonald's hamburgers a day.  How do you get those 6 million people to stand in line?  If you can think of a good answer to that question, you'll have a good answer to your question about those 1.1 million.

Manpower needed - China has over a million rural doctors.  Those are doctors in rural areas, not even in cities.  You'd only need .3% of those doctors to get everyone tested.  And you don't even need doctors; medical techs will do just fine.

The logistics of administering the tests are not insurmountable.

Sorry, bad paraphrasing.

But in any case, no I didn't believe it because it made Trump look bad, but because I was discussing the mechanics of the PCR tests, and up to that point Trump had not been mentioned.

Bill please.  Try to keep up.  We aren't talking about the whole of China, or hamburgers for that matter.  We're talking Wuhan province.  Certainly not a rural area.

ETA...are you proposing that China offer it's citizens a hamburger if they get in line?

Right.  But they have these things called "cars" and "buses" and "trains" that allows China to mobilize a workforce and get it to the area.   3820 people is two trainloads of people for a Long Island Rail Road train.  I'm sure that in China they could fit them in one.

Like I said, the workforce and the time for the procedures are not barriers.

Yes, that's it.  But it would have to be a Big Mac - not just a hamberder.

Turtle must defend everything Trumpian faster than his sock puppet disappeared. Every time. Even when The Dear Leader Trumpster isn't mentioned.

Fun fact, later this year the USA is going to get somewhere around 140M people to stand in line in only 1 day and they don't need to be bribed with food or anything.

Soooo - the solution here is to cram as many "social distancing" people as possible into one enclosed space to transport them to another place, in order to get tested for the thing they that is causing them to have to be social distancing ? ? ?

What could possibly go wrong besides an increase in transference of disease. Which would have to be tested again . . . and so there the cycle continues.

Assuming 10 trips per day - You would also need approximately 34 trains dedicated to taking these people to a place to get tested.

Then, you would have to reduce that number by half because you would have to take them back. (Assumed - Since I suppose you could leave theme there, its just not realistic.)

Why are you trying to justify China in this?

I though that proven liars were bad and shouldn't be trusted, defended, or have apologists and champions?

The art of distraction, sidestepping the issue and imagining that you bow to the crowd enjoying their applause. Bullfighters with capes do it. trump and his cabinet does it. Then we have trump's supporters in SC doing it.

That makes sense.

I still stick by my belief regarding the motive for believing China..  I know I'm not alone in having bias, and I'm sure that my beliefs are colored that way sometimes.

It could be zero standing in line if the remaining 45 states moved forward into the 20th century with that cutting-edge technology called the "mail in ballot".

Ummm, I think you've got Muhammed and the mountain the wrong way round.

Bill wasn't suggesting putting the whole of Wuhan on trains to where the testers are. Call me crazy if you want, but you might find it easier to bring the testers to where they're needed instead.

So on one side the anti Trumper's 'distract' by posting evidence, and on the other side you do it by posting links while lying about what's in them. Who to trust...?

OK - fine -

At an average distance of 2 meters - that would be a collective lines that measures roughly 2200 Kilometres long - per day - for 10 days.

I think since the clock already started, that the lines will need to be even more to meet the deadline.

I suppose you can have a couple hundred thousand testers doing door to door tests.
