Did you just not talk to her before?

That's not how it works in conservative circles. Just before he talked to her she talked to the neighbor who just before talking to her watched the latest FOX News and so on and so on. That's why their info is always so current.

Wisconsin going under a 'stay at home' order tomorrow. Same as a 'shelter in place', but less 'martial law sounding'.
Indiana will be too.

Good!  Too late to prevent a geometric increase in infections, but at least it's something.

I'm seeing reports that Michigan will too.

On a slightly different note, a friend is retired anesthesiologist. He said he's hearing a few very scary things about this disease.

About 1 in 6 who need ICU care and recover had enough lung damage to require oxygen for the rest of their life.
And some of the ICU patients in China survived because they were placed on a Heart/Lung bypass machine. There aren't a whole lot of those out there (he said that there were 2 local to him and me, serving about 100k people).
Note: The above is not confirmed, but it comes from a source I trust for this sort of thing.

Alarmist nonsense!  We won't see any of those problems for many, many weeks.  Maybe even 6.  And who plans that far in advance?

The governor also noted that Tesla chief executive has also made good on his promise to provide 1,000 ventilators to address an anticipated shortage in intensive-care units. The ventilators, Newsom said, were delivered in Los Angeles.

But there is also the certification process for any medical equipment. I'm thinking Tesla may be acting as a subcontractor for an existing design for an existing mfgr with certification.

And I'm thinking this goat roping contest might end like Ten Seconds to Hell.

Trump needs Fauci.

Of course he does, but when has that stopped him from firing someone impulsively before?

Where Is Dr. Fauci?’ Key Expert Missing From Coronavirus Briefing For Second Day

President Trump has reportedly grown frustrated with the respected immunologist’s blunt talk contradicting White House talking points.

By Nick Visser 03/23/2020 09:21 pm ET

Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the nation’s touchstones for scientific wisdom amid the spread of COVID-19, was absent from the White House’s daily briefing for the second day in a row on Monday, prompting many to wonder where the nation’s top infectious disease expert was as the nation reels from the rising pandemic.

President Donald Trump spoke about the administration’s efforts to rein in the outbreak and provide personal protective equipment to some hospitals already straining under an influx of sick patients. But while the president repeated platitudes about the country soon being “stronger than ever before,” there was limited medical advice given.

Fauci, who serves as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has for many become a beacon of truth and straight talk as coronavirus continues to spread around the country, often walking back unfounded claims made by the president (the timeline of a coronavirus vaccine, for example, or the growth rate of infections).

By Friday, we will be battling it out with Italy for 1st place in total cases.  Of course, they are still kicking our ass in per capita cases.  China is really fading, despite their advantage of an early lead -- we are already ahead of them in per capita cases.

Fairly large assumption that we're getting the real numbers from China.

We are so short of tests (thanks, Donald) that it's a fairly large assumption that we're getting the real numbers from the USA.

Oh, I forgot: "everyone that wants a test can get a test", DJT, March 6, 2020

That's true...however there are only so many test kits to go around.  Your "It's Trump's fault" drumbeat is starting to sound a bit hollow.  Exactly when in your TDS does it become China's fault?

I don't suppose we're getting real numbers from any country with the exception of possibly how many are infected.

He's just doing his patriotic duty of making this an us vs them issue.

If it's not Trump's fault, whose fault is it that he lied about the availability of tests on March 6th?

How the hell is that relevant to the fact Trump said “anyone who wants a test can get a test”???

You would have us believe that a false promise can be defended by proving the promise was false??? What kind of logic is that???

It's Trumpian Logic.

Just as it's not Trump's fault that Mexico didn't pay for the wall, Hillary isn't locked up, and he hasn't released his tax returns as promised.
