Tell us how many bills passed by the Democratic House are languishing in the do-nothing GOP Senate.

As far as I know - they are being argued.

Just because the house sends it to the senate doesn't mean it gets an immediate up or down vote.

You should know these things professor.

Admittedly refusing to let the Senate see or act on these bills will never get anywhere near a vote.

You can't vote on bills not brought in for hearings, discussions, considerations, or votes.

Even the Mitch Turtle knows these things, which is exactly why he's blocking them.

Its politics.  Change the system if you don't like it.

Isn't that the response we all received when we complained that the exact opposite was being done?

When we had legislation shoved down our throats?

It sucks when that same system is used against those, that were so happy about when it worked, when it worked in their favor, no?

I don't recall having a democrat leader of the senate refusing to even do his job.

Legislation shoved down our throats?

This isn't tit for tat this time around, nor should it ever be. Republican led politics is about power and shoving everything down everyone's throats, maybe that's what you mean. I've never seen our government disregarding their job, laws, and the constitution before.

Are you saying that deciding what legislation comes up for a vote, and even what kind of vote it needs, is not his job?

If the primary definition is “the Democrats passed it” then it’s not awesome.

My Bias likes the wording you used.:halo:

You are correct, if the Democrats passed it, then it is not awesome.xD

I am hearing you say that he is simply refusing to hear anything passed, by the house, that is not bi-partisan.

That may be true.  It may appear to be unfair.

All it takes is for him to be voted out.

Otherwise, it would lend to the idea that the majority of voting public like the status quo.

I'll give you the main one Socialism.....and if you don't think that's the Democrats plan you're kidding yourself

What do the words Democrat and Socialism mean to you? Are all Democrats after the same thing? Does Bloomberg = Sanders =JFK? Is Socialism the same to everyone or are there different definitions? For all we know Socialism to you means being forced to share your biggie fries, let BillVon ride your bike on Thursday's and get your morning coffee at that commie outfit Tim Horton's.

If you have something besides a dog whistle I'm sure we'd all like to hear it.

Lol. You just posted in support of someone saying the Democrats were a threat saying the impeachment was stopping things getting done. Now it’s pointed out that the R senate leadership is the blockage that’s not a threat anymore, just politics.

Ready to admit this bias?

I see this argument all the time. The majority in the Senate is blocking things they don't agree with. I'm not liking it because most of what they are blocking is stuff I agree with. But that is not the same as "not doing their job". It is using the power that the constitution gives them. When you have the ball you play offense, when the other team has the ball you play defense.

With the amount of time being spent on impeachment, and elections. (past present and future), NOTHING is getting done.

Thus limiting the damage the government can do.  They've achieved a long-standing Republican goal - reduce the federal government's role.  Go democrats!

I didn't claim they weren't "doing their job".  The Turtle claimed they are being argued.  They aren't.  He claimed impeachment took up the time they would argue (debate) the bills.  It didn't.

Our Poli-Amourous Turtle loves everyone when he's in the mood. That's assuming he's a him, now that I think about it.

Correct - Normiss did.

You said the bills are being blocked.

Technically they are being passed over for more important bills.

So you don't think preventing Russian interference in our elections is important enough for the Senate.

Then how do you know the other bills are more important? Have you read them?

It's not my job to know.

It is the job of the guy that is making the decisions.  Just because you don't like his politics doesn't mean he isn't doing his job.

The people spoke with their votes.  The people that were voted in, chose this guy to do that job.

If you don't like it, please vote to get him out.

I disagree with Pelosi and how she runs her job.

If I could - I'd get her voted out as well.

So you don't know what the bill says or whether it's any good.  But you disagree with people who take positions on it.  And when Pelosi does something, she deserves to be outed.  But when the GOP does the same thing, it's just "politics."

You sure you're not a Trump supporter?

I have been reading these last couple of pages with great amusement.

Liberals simply cannot comprehend the fact that passion is more powerful than liberal logic. Learn to address emotion.

Many liberals also disagree with the thought that passion is the best way to pick the leader of the most powerful, richest, nation in the world.

I wouldn’t use passion to pick a doctor, either.

And conservatives can’t comprehend that it’s dishonest to make a factual statement then hide behind the excuse that it’s just a political opinion or an emotional judgement when they can’t back it up.
