Go back to where you came from

Well, given that neither myself nor Trump drinks; you may be right on the latter. Personally, I'm tired of going to bed at night with the liberals having pissed me off.

So stop going to bed being pissed off.  The only person who can change that is you.

Quote

"Trump is a bully!” “Trump is an outsider” “Trump is an authoritarian!”  “Trump is a racist!”  “Trump is a con artist!” “Trump is Hitler!” “Trump is a misogynist!”  “Trump is a xenophobe!”

If you thought those things weren't true, then people saying them wouldn't piss you off.  But since you suspect they are, they bother you.

Suggestion - stop denying them.

I'm fucking tired of it. The only one's playing the racist card are the liberals. They have no substance to their argument.

"go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came" - Trump tweet to American born citizens.

"When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor" - former Trump castle worker

In 1973, Trump's apartment complex excluded blacks, and the managers were instructed to rent to only "Jews and executives."  When someone advised Trump against this, he said "You know, you don’t want to live with them either.”

In 1991, Trump casino president John R. O’Donnell recounted how he mentioned a black employee to Trump.  “Yeah, I never liked the guy. I don’t think he knows what the fuck he’s doing. My accountants up in New York are always complaining about him. He’s not responsive. And isn’t it funny, I’ve got black accountants at the Trump Castle and at Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. Those are the kind of people I want counting my money. No one else.  Besides that, I’ve got to tell you something else. I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not something they can control. … Don’t you agree?”

Trump is a racist because he has worked to exclude blacks from his properties and businesses, supports Nazis and white supremacists and regularly tweets racist messages.  Pretty simple really.

You guys (and ladies) are responsible for today's cultural climate and you don't even know it.

Did MLK's supporters "play the racist card" too?  After all, they were all whiny about the fact that he was assassinated, always calling his killer a racist and whatnot.  Why couldn't they just shut up?  THEY are responsible for racism.

Do you think it's acceptable to tell someone to "Go back to where they came from" specifically because that person has a dark complexion?

That's exactly what I'm talking about. It's not about what she said; it's about that she's brown or dark complected.

Let's start with her first anti-semitic comment in 2012, "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel."  She has a history of anti-semitic remarks. Do you condone what she has said about another minority? Where are the chants of anti-semitism?

Now, if a white man said, "The US has hypnotized the world, may God awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Iraq." Where would you be? Oh wait, When that was said - Bush was a bad person. He was a bigot, a racist, had no understanding of those "poor" people.

But, she gets a pass. Got it.

You have got to be kidding.

Trump IS all of those things.

Many of his supporters are too. Not all of them, but many.

I completely fail to understand how any reasonable person can continue to support Trump.

The issue is the definition of "reasonable."  A great many deplorables love his racism - his birtherism, his attacks on blacks, his racist tweets, his exclusion of blacks from his businesses.  They think "Damn I wish I could get away with that!  Go Trump!"

A lot of the deplorables out there have spent years trying to "look accepting" because if they make the same black (or jew, or woman, or cripple) jokes they always have, they get criticism, or a talking to, or a pink slip.  So they covered up their sentiments.  Now they can finally "be themselves" - and a lot of them find a hero in Trump.

She very much drew a lot of flack for that and she addressed it.

Actually, I would likely agree with him.  I also agree that the world gives a huge pass to Israel just because everyone is afraid of being called anti Semitic.

Address his policies; not the person.

Trump should spend more time on policy and less on Twitter.

His words in text and voice are policy.  By alienating people simply because of their country of ancestry as he has done on many occasions he sets a policy for Americans to also alienate them in their personal and professional lives.

What he has said is the kind of bullshit you hear from a shitty truck in a gas station before it peels out and clunks down a back road.  If that's the country you want you're welcome to leave, to paraphrase Trump.

You're missing the point that these messages of his DO FEED INTO HIS POLICES as a method of gaining support for things like the Muslim Ban and his BS self-created emergency at the border.

The POTUS is the elected leader of your nation. Do you not understand what it means to be a leader? Policy is for wonks, leaders are judged by their words. Encouraging discord is a Trump policy. He is very good at it.

The White House has stated that his tweets are "considered official statements" by the administration.  Addressing his tweets IS addressing his policies.

White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway on Fox News:

“They represent a dark underbelly in this country of people who are not respecting our troops, are not giving them the resources and respect that they deserve,” she fumed. “We’re tired of people not kneeling for the flag out of disrespect. We’re tired of some of these women palling around with terrorists!”

Interesting take on Churchill's "soft underbelly", I thought.

Yes, the policy of Trumps White House is unapologetic racism. This isn't like staying silent when your Grandpa farts at the dinner table. This you either oppose openly or, by your silence, announce your support.

Yep.  It's more like your drunk uncle saying "that darky took my job!  We should put him and all his shiftless friends on a boat back to where they came from" in front of your kids.

Every time we elect a politician that lies; we say "oh, he's a politician, what did you expect?" Then you say, "He's not a politician; he's crude and unpolished."  Now, let's think about this. Which one do you want?

"He is crude and unpolished." Sure, there's times his communication style pisses me off; but in the long run; his policies do not.

What I want is a POTUS that isn't prone to adolescence.

That's what I'm here for.

I was watching Little House on the Prairie awhile ago and the following quote really resonated with me:

Charles Ingalls:  "Half-pint (Laura Ingalls), if you don't stand up to people... bigots... then you're no better than they are. Worse, in fact, because you know that it's wrong and you allow them to think that you feel the same way they do."

It really is a great show with quality content that's still relevant today, especially wrt to social issues and religion.

In a slightly shorter form: "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

The only strategy the Dems have is to cast dispersion.

The Dem's strategy is to cover everything in rainbows? That might be the nicest thing you've said yet, so I'll assume you didn't mean it.

He is. All of those thing, he is (although surely 'outsider' is what you guys call him as a compliment?). You know he is all of those things - so what's wrong with pointing it out?

You literally just called the entire Democratic party racist, and Trump is currently doubling down on Twitter calling the brown people he insulted racist.

Get real, dude.

Complaining about Israel is not in and of itself anti-Semitic. Israel is a nation state with policies and actions that can be assessed on their own merits without ever taking into consideration that the people formulating those policies are Jewish. You are playing the racist card again, stop being a hypocrite.

Further, lets swing it back to Trump and his constant criticism of China... does that mean he's racist against ethnic Chinese?

Why pick one when you can have both?

Trump is crude and unpolished (if we are being incredibly charitable), and he also lies. Documented, provable lies over and over again at a frankly staggering rate. So what do you want, a normal politician who lies at an average rate and can also refrain from randomly insulting other world leaders and spewing racist rhetoric or Trump, who lies at a staggering rate and is a total loose cannon in every form of public and private communication?

This (very slightly modified) song by Roger Waters seems applicable today.

=============================

Sitting in a bunker here behind the wall
Waiting for the worms to come
In perfect isolation here behind the wall
Waiting for the worms to come

We're waiting . . . to succeed and going to convene outside Charlottesville where we're going to be . .
Waiting . . . to cut out the deadwood
Waiting . . . to clean up the city
Waiting . . . to follow the worms
Waiting . . . to put on a black shirt
Waiting . . . to weed out the weaklings
Waiting . . . to smash in their windows
And kick in their doors
Waiting . . . for the final solution
To strengthen the strain . . .

Would you like to see America
Great Again, my friend?
All you have to do is follow the worms
Would you like to send our colored cousins
Home again, my friend?

All you need to do is follow the worms
