Trump, the Great Orator

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I am currently reading SIEGE Trump Under Fire by Michael Wolff.  In it he writes about a speech Trump gave in Michigan.

I scanned the text; it is attached.  As you can see, Trump is truly one of our great orators; NOT!!!!.

PS)  And there are still people who support him:  UNBELIEVABLE

It’s actually exhausting to try and keep up with what he’s saying!

The patriotic veterans I know find it impossible to like or even respect a 5 time draft dodger.

Love isn't even remotely considered.

Up here the veteran community solidly supports Trump. Most of us are Vietnam veterans and had to deal with the reality of the draft. By the same token, we hate John Kerry, who served in Vietnam. Military service or the lack thereof is not a factor for our support.

Why would the draft issue be important to you and your peers when it was not a factor in your military choices?

I believe your hatred of the POTUS is much deeper, more conflicted, and to a large extent not clearly understood.

I don't hate. Not having respect for someone does not equate hate.

Maybe draft dodging matters because most of the veterans I know willingly volunteered, showing they had honor. Unlike the current Potus.

Having less than zero respect for a lying, cheating, traitor, criminal president is easily understood.

So you have no respect for Bill Clinton then - Gotcha.

Hi Ron,

Based upon your posting history, it does seem to me that your comment would apply as regards your opinion of Hillary.

Something about living in glass houses . . . . .

You have surrounded yourself with like-minded people, so that's no surprise.

Again, I have no doubt that if anyone had asked you back when you were serving if you would ever support a Vietnam draft dodger for president, you would not have said "sure."   Indeed you likely would have had some strong opinions on that.  But morality is relative, eh?

No one would even bother to give Trump much thought, let alone hate, if he had not managed to become POTUS. It's not hard to understand hating having him in that office. What is hard to understand is your acceptance of him in that role.

I was very active in the veteran community throughout the Vietnam war. Neither I nor anyone I knew held any particular grievance against those who were fortunate enough to avoid the draft. I was in college from 1965 - 1968. Most were seeking that route to avoid the draft. It was a shitty war. If you could avoid it more power to you. I nearly always was in association with Special Operations and we thought and believed Vietnam was a good battleground against Socialism/Communism. As we used to say, Vietnam is not a good war but it is the only one we have. We were having a bang-up time until LBJ and his bunch took over. Who can not think back with a smile for White Star, the Phoenix Program, or Operation Eldest Son?

War is nearly always a sign of failure. Failure of diplomatic methods, of trade methods, of simply tolerating. It’s a sign that one values human life less than ideology.

Saying “it’s the only one we have” speaks volumes about one’s priorities

Yes.  I have "surrounded myself" with you, Turtle, RonD, RushMC, Rick, Bigun, Coreece and Brenthutch so I only see "like-minded" people.  You've figured out the big conspiracy.

You are correct in stating that I have surrounded myself with like-minded people as you have. What we fear is that states like CA, OR, WA, NY and most of New England will entice illegals to reside there with free benefits from our tax dollars without the requirement of citizenship. And then, give them the right to vote to maintain socialistic/communistic power and control over the rest of us, that is, me and my like-minded Patriots. President Trump will not allow that to happen.

So, what he says and how he says it is of little consequence to us. We support what he stands for and we believe we have a very, very good chance of keeping America on track. President Trump is doing what he said he would do. Hussein did what he said he would do and that is why we have President Trump. The Patriots are in control and we plan to keep it.

Come on man. I know you guys love false equivalences but Ron deliberately moved across the country specifically so he could live in an enclave of very right wing conservative Christians with few to no liberals in the community. That’s not any kind of hyperbole, he literally has surrounded himself with like minded people in everyday life.

Its a world of difference to frequenting a forum where there happen to be more liberals than conservatives regularly posting - especially since everyone here found this place because they skydive, not because they’re liberal.

War is a fact of life until Jesus Christ returns. The object is to be the victor.

Special Operations deal with low-intensity conflicts and are carried out by professional warriors. They are needed and required in this fallen sinful world. They reduce the need for massive groups of soldiers who become merely cannon fodder.

Murder is a fact of life, is the objective to be a murderer? Rape is a fact of life, is the objective to be a rapist?

These are both questions that are directly in context of the Phoenix program, by the way.

You actually believe that garbage, don't you?

You are aware, of course, that Trump has a long history of hiring and exploiting illegals. Both for his resorts and his construction projects.
