Mike Furry

I saw a 'In memory of Mike Furry' in the June PARACHUTIST.

I have not seen anything about him passing.

Did I miss it/is he still with us?

It has been a number of years since I last talked with him.

He was one of the good ones, I met him and his wife back in early 80's at Skydive Sandwich. He talked me into buying a Dragonfly 9 cell, best canopy I ever had......

Wow, bummer. My first canopy was a Fury and I jumped a Maverick a few times as well.  Great canopies for the time.

Mike Furry was a good guy.  Sent the aluminum back plate for free when I needed it to pack a Dolphin.             Jumpwally - I also jumped the Dragonfly 9 cell for while. Great canopy.

I had my original seven-cell Dragonfly upgraded to a nine-cell by Furry when it started to get porous. Worked wonderfully.

Still jump my Maverick from time to time. My go-to canopy for demos and general stupid stuff one doesn't want to do on modern small ZP.

I begged Mike to let me do a couple of intentional cutaways when he was testing the Dolphin at Zhills.  He said I didn't have enough experience to be a test jumper. Looking back, he was probably right.  Always a great guy.  Blue Skies, Mike.
