Movie Scene - Right or Wrong - Bully or No Bully

  1. 1. In the Shawshank Redemption - there is a scene where the main character was put in solitary for using a word. Was the warden justified in Andy's treatment?

I voted yes because it wasn't about use of the word but about the warden deciding to control Andy.  It was justified as a means to break Andy.  That might put a wrench in what you were trying to accomplish.

I have no agenda.

But . . . 

If someone was given a comment from a moderator that read "You are obtuse" in response to a "time out" given because of a comment that was along the same lines as is in the movie - 

One could probably draw some pretty close parallels.  Donchathink?

I'm just saying that Mr. Warden was acting on behalf of self interest in not wanting Mr. Dufresne to go free.  I don't think saying that calling someone obtuse is a big deal in most contexts especially that it usually implies that someone is being deliberately obtuse rather than actually dumb.
