PapaSmurf 1 #1 Posted February 22, 2019 Sad to post that Hubie passed in his sleep. "Bob was a proud member of the United States Parachute Association for over 40 years. One of Bob's greatest passions was his love of skydiving. He completed 3276 parachute jumps since he became involved in the sport in 1976. He was most proud of being known as "Quincy's Skydiving Santa". For nearly 40 years, Bob would parachute into Quincy dressed as Santa Claus, along with his skydiving elves." A memorial visitation service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 1-3 p.m. at Hamel-Lydon Chapel, 650 Hancock St., Quincy, MA. flyhi 24 #2 April 10, 2019 I remember Hubie from Lake Wales. He was usually out early in the day and on the first or second load. I don't remember him jumping with anyone consistently. He always seemed to enjoy doing hop n pops early in the day and then finishing them up with some accuracy at the bottom end. After reading about him being the Quincy Santa Claus, I can see why that was important to him. Sat around and talked to him on some weather days and he was very gregarious. BSBD, Hubie. You will be missed
freefalln135 25 #3 September 27, 2019 Hubie was the best. Always loved sitting with him, Tooth and the others drinking beer from an upside down can. Hubie loved his can collection. Gonna really miss him. Blue ones my friend.
