ryoder 1,381 #1 November 24, 2018 This crap just started this morning. A years ago, bikeforums.net was plagued with the identical garbage until they finally stamped it out. Note that it is triggered by HTTP_USER_AGENT string, so it does not show up on a desktop. Meso 38 #2 November 26, 2018 Thanks for letting us know, this is unusual... Our network advertiser is usually very strict about what they allow on the network and ensure us that we won't be delivered any popups or redirects. But naturally this doesn't mean it can't happen. It's also possible that the ad network slipped up and some were active for a while before getting pulled from the network. We've done some testing now with a US VPN on an iphone device, and we are unable to replicate the situation. Have you had it occur since?
ryoder 1,381 #3 November 26, 2018 I’m not seeing the trash today, thank goodness. Two days ago it was happening every time I opened a thread."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. ryoder 1,381 #4 December 2, 2018 And today they are back. "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.
Meso 38 #5 December 3, 2018 Sorry about this guys, we're in talks with the advertisers and while they are as annoyed by it as we are, they are having trouble pinning down where in their inventory its coming from. Can anyone experiencing the ad issues perhaps let us know what state you're in, so we can see if the ads are being state targeted. We've been unable to replicate the ads, despite using American proxies/VPNs. We're going to keep trying to locate where these ads are coming from and blocking the source, we never want these intrusive ads on dropzone. For those experiencing them please let me know if you are: 1) Experiencing them on desktop or mobile, or both? 2) In which state you're seeing them. Westerly 61 #6 December 7, 2018 I had an issue with this a few days ago as well. Tons of pop-ups on my phone making it impossible to use the site.
ryoder 1,381 #7 December 8, 2018 It seems to come and go. No problems at all today. Note that I only use the phone when I'm out on the road cycling, which is usually every 2nd day."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.
