>You are talking about the current Schumer shutdown?

Given that they had a deal before Trump has his shithole tantrum - nope.

Absolutely hilarious that the Rs control the House, the Senate and the White House, yet cannot get anything done.

Their "leadership" abilities are shown clearly on this crap.

And of course, rather than actually admitting that they failed miserably in this - they only needed a simple majority to pass it - they blame the Ds.

So, by blaming "Schumer", they admit that the party that has a minority in the House, a minority in the Senate and zero presence in the WH has more power to control the government than they do.

Hilarious.

Senator Lindsey Graham is unhappy with the remaining Whitehouse Nazi's influence on the Whitehouse child:
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/01/21/government-shutdown-immigration-graham-miller-354747

""I’ve talked with the president — his heart is right on this issue," Graham said. "He’s got a good understanding of what will sell, and every time we have a proposal it is only yanked back by staff members.""

Sounds like he hasn't demonstrated the ability to lead his own office, let alone a whole country:P

Ok, I'm going to assume that you're an un-educated individual on this. The "R's" don't control the senate here (at least not without the nuclear option). There aren't enough votes even if every R votes to pass this thing. Also, the D want this whole DACA shit and wont agree to pass a spending bill without an agreement to pass DACA in the future. The D are the ones putting illegals ahead of our military, VA, gov contractors, park rangers etc...

>It is called the "Schumer Shutdown."

Looks like you've been listening to your leaders.

#SchumerShutdown becomes top hashtag used by Russian bots

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 01/21/18 10:58 PM
The Hill

#SchumerShutdown became the top trending topic promoted by Russian bots on social media on Sunday night, a national security group found.

The Alliance for Securing Democracy, an organization led by national security officials from both political parties housed at The German Marshall Fund of the United States, found that the phrase was the top trending hashtag promoted by Russian bots as of 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The group tracks activity by about 600 Twitter accounts that are tied to Russian influence projects.
The hashtag has been used by Republicans to blame Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Democrats for the government shutdown.

#ReleaseTheMemo, a slogan calling for the release of a memo that some Republicans say proves bias in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russia's election interference, was the second-highest trending hashtag at the time.

Russian-linked bots on Twitter were found to have fueled #ReleaseTheMemo as well.

Truthfully, I don't know what you are referring to. This # business means absolutely nothing to me.

Cue royreader

cue Foxfans and trumpateers:

Right-wing demand to #ReleaseTheMemo endorsed by Russian bots, trolls

The latest attempt by some Republicans in Congress to discredit the Trump-Russia investigation has been embraced by Russian bots and trolls on social media. ..

"#Releasethememo" is now the top trending hashtag among Russian bots and trolls on Twitter and other platforms, according to the German Marshall Fund's "Hamilton 68" website, which tracks Russian influence campaigns.

The president's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., also employed the hashtag in a tweet Friday morning.

"Americans deserve to know the contents of the memo," he wrote. "Democrats & deep state govt officials are doing everything they can to protect those within the government who used their positions of influence to target those they disagree with politically. RELEASE THE MEMO! #ReleaseTheMemo"
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/right-wing-demand-releasethememo-endorsed-russian-bots-trolls-n839141

As previously mentioned trump could declassify the memo in a instant and release it. Trump's son and Russian bots acting together, in 2018. Such an unprecedented surprise.

Rep. Mick Mulvaney's (R, SC) role when the government last shut down, five years ago, was to force the shutdown by leading a conservative rebellion against GOP leaders during a spat over the Affordable Care Act.

OMB Director Mick Mulvaney now whines that Dems are doing the exact same thing over DACA that he did over ACA.

What do you mean?

The Rs hold a majority in the Senate. Period.

This is not an issue that cloture can become a problem. There is no need for a 60 vote supermajority on this.

At all.

So the Rs hold a majority, plus the tiebreaker if needed.

And they can't pass this.

To blame this on the Ds is either admitting the Rs total lack of leadership ability.

Or it's "uneducated" on how the Senate works.

>Truthfully, I don't know what you are referring to.

To simplify, Russian agents are planting the phrase "Schumer Shutdown" to go after their enemies, the Democrats - because, among other things, the investigation into Russian collusion will damage them. They are hoping dupes within the US pick up on it and repeat it.

>The "R's" don't control the senate here (at least not without the nuclear option).

The republicans control the Senate. They have a majority. The majority leader is a Republican. In the event of a tie, a republican (the vice president) decides.

>There aren't enough votes even if every R votes to pass this thing.

And yet every R didn't vote for it. So they can't even get their own act together.

>Also, the D want this whole DACA shit and wont agree to pass a spending bill
>without an agreement to pass DACA in the future.

On Jan 11th both democrats and republicans agreed to a DACA compromise that would give them a path to citizenship in 10 years. The agreement also included $1.6 billion for a border wall that Trump wanted. Then went to Trump, and he had a tantrum and rejected it, because "shithole."

>The D are the ones putting illegals ahead of our military, VA, gov contractors,
>park rangers etc...

And Trump's mental instability just destroyed the deal that both parties agreed to, and that would have funded the military, the VA, the government contractors, park rangers etc.

But by all means, keep supporting the guy who scuttled the deal while playing the victim.

Sounds like a plot from/for a Hollywood movie. I first heard the term from Mick Mulvaney on the radio.

So is Trump's presidency. But here we are.

Did you ever think, back when you were serving your government overseas, that you would one day be a willing pawn of the Russians, and you'd spend your time attacking our closest allies (like the UK?)

No, not in the farthest reaches of my imagination. Then Obama was elected and the entire paradigm made an extreme shift. I never thought America would accept socialism.

But, it is just the stuff of life; which is a journey without distance to reach a goal that does not change.

Trump, 2013: "The problems start from the top and have to get solved from the top. The president is the leader, and he's got to get everybody in a room and he's got to lead."

Today a reporter asked Sen. Kennedy (R-LA) what the president thinks about his latest funding proposal. His reply: "I do not know where the president is."

Ah yes, Mick Mulvaney, the Republican representative from S. Carolina who engineered the government shutdown in 2013 over ACA. HYPOCRITE!
