Where have all the deficit hawks gone?

Recommended Posts

Gone to hypocrisy every one.

The US National Debt increased by over $1 TRILLION from September 2017 to March 2018.

And under the GOP's tax-cuts-for-the-wealthy while increasing military spending scheme, it will only get worse.

Criticizing the president about the national debt isn't a winning strategy. Campaigning on what he spent it on could be.

President Trump has led the Republican Party in surprising directions – away from a balanced federal budget being only the latest. A recent poll indicates that's not a concern to most voters.

I miss the days when the most outrageous thing going on was a bunch of overweight white people angry about socialism. Who would have thought all those patriots are now defending Russian propaganda and think the FBI is their number one enemy.

It appears that the increase is for the right reason this time.

Paranoia and bigotry are "the right reason"?

I thought Mexico was going to pay for the wall.

Or was Trump lying?

Or is it just that his supporters were stupid enough to fall for that line?

?? All 51 republicans voted for the new tax plan in the senate; all 48 democrats voted against it. In the House all 191 Democrats voted against it. How is that "going along with it?"

Well, exactly WHERE did the bulk of the tax cuts go? Certainly not to the folks on minimum wage.

According to the Joint Committee on Taxation, Senate Budget Committee, the 0.3% of the people making over $1 MILLION/year get 21.6% of the benefits.

So explain to us how this does not constitute tax cuts for the wealthy.

Gee, it's too bad there is nowhere one can go to look at how the House & Senate voted on issues.

That will be pretty hard on moral in the National Guard and the reserves I would imagine. Long hot and dusty days are probably alright with them if it is serving an important need. But since it is only a publicity stunt for the dotard there will likely be some resentment.

Because it's a symmetric distribution, 100 is both the median and mean, er, average.

I am interested in the logistics of this decision. Basically, AFAIK, NG and Reservists served one weekend/month and two weeks each year.

A source perhaps, but they are certainly not an unbiased source.
