Trump's policy on 'detaining' children

You're losing your cool a little more than usual this evening Marc. Is the pressure getting to you? I think it might be getting to Trump on this one. His lies are fooling almost no one this time. Most of the Rs are turning hard against this policy. I think he went too far this time. Will you be backing down when Donnie does?

Once again you address no issues and you attack me. Nothing new. I'm used to it. And as usual I really don't give a damn what you think. Trump's doing fine and it's going to be fun to be around after the midterm elections!

That said I hope you and yours keep doing what you're doing. Because the people don't like it. By the way, Did you see that Trump's approval ratings are higher than Reagan's Obama's and anybody else at this. In there presidency? Probably not. Not in your new cycle.

In regards to Schumer, hell we don't give a damn about the children. It's the political narrative that we care about. There's an election coming up so we got to do something. All they gots this type of bullshit. Got to give him credit though they're good at it.

I guess what I enjoy even more Bill, is it you buy in on it!

But Marc, old, uneducated, white men, are a dying demographic!!!!!...!!!!! Demographic means breed of tribe.

"The Latino population in the United States has reached nearly 58 million in 2016 and has been the principal driver of U.S. demographic growth, accounting for half of national population growth since 2000. "

Within another election cycle, everything trump did will be undone, you're AR-15s will be history, etc.

"Just following the law" didn't go over too well at Nuremberg.

So; the Flores Consent Decree from 1997 (during Clinton's term) and related applicable immigration law passed by US Congress during whichever years,
are regarded by you as equivalent to the executive orders of a Nazi dictator during the 1940's ?
...and consequently implying that government officials have the option to thumb their nose at such laws in much the same way as German officers should have ?

Seriously ?

Nuremberg established the precedent that "just following the law" is not a defense for immoral, inhuman and unethical action.

Let us not forget, convicted felons have their children taken from them. Entering this country after being deported is a felony.

Who separates the most children from their families, Homeland Security or Planned Parenthood?

The Democratic party is not concerned about the children. Their only concern is anti-President Trump strategies.

Everyone sees it and it is only a matter of choosing sides. It is a high stakes game and no one here is qualified to play, only observe and cheer for your side.

Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar, who represents Texas' 28th district, which covers an area from the Rio Grande to the suburbs of San Antonio, has admitted that the Obama administration tried to keep the child migrant crisis quiet.

"It was kept very quiet under the Obama Administration. There were large numbers of people coming in. The Obama Administration was trying to keep this quiet." Cuellar told CNN's Fredericka Whitfield.

Also from Cuellar: "We still see the numbers, not all of them are being separated. Some of them are coming alone."

Also this: "Keep in mind that under the law, you can separate a child if that person, the adult, is not the real parent or the custodian because sometimes we see situations where they'll bring a child because they know of the policy that we have over here with children."

In fiscal year 2013, under the Barack Obama administration, the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement had as many as 25,000 unaccompanied children in its care across 80 shelters. The number represented a huge jump from 2011, when the ORR had just 53 shelters housing 6560 kids.

Now a look at 2018... The Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families spokesperson Kenneth Wolfe told Newsweek that it had as many as 10,852 undocumented children in its custody.

Imagine that. A Democrat admitted that it was way worse under Obama but there was no outrage because they tried to keep it quiet. Now Trump is the POTUS and the Democrats are throwing anything and everything at him. They're desperate to gain any edge in the 2018 elections.

Eat shit, libbies. :P

You are a brazen liar.

Over the entirety of 2013 the immigration services apprehended 24,000 children in total.

In 2018 the immigration services have in detention nearly 11,000 children right now.

Doesn't it bother you that practically every single argument you attempt to make in here turns out to be based on provably false facts and fake news? Shouldn't it make you re-examine your world view?
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

If you can't see the difference between caring for children who arrive unaccompanied or not in the care of a parent or legal guardian and the mandatory separation of children from their parents, you simply aren't smart enough to be part of an adult conversation.

>Let us not forget, convicted felons have their children taken from them.

Yep. And people who speed don't. Even though they are criminals who are breaking the law. Why? Because most people, even law enforcement types, have common sense.

>Entering this country after being deported is a felony.

Entering and applying for asylum is not a felony.

>Who separates the most children from their families, Homeland Security or Planned Parenthood?

Homeland Security. That's an easy one.

At least it's expensive.

"The cost of holding migrant children who have been separated from their parents in newly created "tent cities" is $775 per person per night, according to an official at the Department of Health and Human Services — far higher than the cost of keeping children with their parents in detention centers or holding them in more permanent buildings."
Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

So now they are putting babies in cages.

Youngest migrants held in ‘tender age’ shelters

Jun 19 2018
Associated Press

Trump administration officials have been sending babies and other young children forcibly separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border to at least three “tender age” shelters in South Texas, The Associated Press has learned.

Lawyers and medical providers who have visited the Rio Grande Valley shelters described play rooms of crying preschool-age children in crisis. The government also plans to open a fourth shelter to house hundreds of young migrant children in Houston, where city leaders denounced the move Tuesday.

Jacob Soboroff, MSNBC: "I was inside the building and there are babies sitting by themselves in a cage with other babies."
============

But at least they're safe, right? I mean, they have law enforcement officials there to protect them.

Policeman sexually assaulted 4-year-old child of undocumented immigrant, sheriff says

The Independent US
Jun 18 2018

A sheriff’s deputy in South Texas has been accused of sexually assaulting the four-year-old daughter of an undocumented immigrant.

Jose Nunez, a 47-year-old detention officer with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, is accused of threatening the young girl’s mother with deportation if she were to report him, authorities said.

On Sunday, the Bexar County sheriff, Javier Salazar, said investigators arrested Mr Nunez on a charge of “super aggravated sexual assault” of a child.

Mr Salazar said: “The details of the case are quite frankly heartbreaking, disturbing, disgusting and infuriating all at the same time”.
=================

So what does all that say about the USA when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable of immigrants? Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State, speaking on World Refugee Day:

"We will continue to help the world's most vulnerable refugees, reflecting the deeply held values of the American people. . . . Commitment to the world’s most vulnerable individuals remains a critical component of America’s national security policy.”

I think that must be a typo; he meant commitment OF the world's most vulnerable individuals.
