North and South Korea

***>Then not only cancelling military readiness exercises, but calling them "war games," in
>exchange for NO specifics on NK nuclear capabilities or sites (let alone any talk of a
>denuclearization plan) was just moronic.

That's already changing. From GOP Sen. Cory Gardner: "I think what the Vice President said today, and we’ll continue to clarify what the president had talked about, exercises will continue with South Korea. I look forward to further comment and clarification from the president when he gets here."

Triggered? Is that what you call it when you resort to vulgarity and people answer back? At least you are slightly more clever than Marc. Even though you both keep claiming how "hilarious" you feel we are as you express your anger.

Remember the Cuban missile crisis? The "libtard" JFK handled that without starting a war. I'm doubting Trump could.

Remember when the libtards said Trump was gonna lead us to WWIII or a nuclear war last year? Even as early as this January and February? Doesn't look like its gonna happen now.

Come on dude. MSM is pretty much against anything Trump does. They're following an anti-Trump agenda. Hardly any of them ever report the news fairly. CNN is a dumpster fire. Acosta was a fucking idiot at the Singapore summit, yep caught with a hot mike muttering expletives, after screeching a question at Trump and KJU but not getting an answer. :S

Yeah, come on.

Did you ever think you'd see the day that a US president openly praised a communist dictator of North Korea, telling the world how much he loves his people and how much his people love him?

Remember when the right wing thought the criminal investigation into Trump would be over by Thanksgiving? Or when electing Trump would lead to lower deficits, better infrastructure and a big, beautiful wall paid for by Mexico? The more intelligent right wingers must be feeling like complete idiots now, although I imagine the less intelligent ones buy all the right wing media propaganda and think everything is great.

KJU's only out in the long term is to set it up so his heir is the economic head of normalization of relationships with the rest of the world. However, that's basically Dictatorial Socialism and backwards triathlon's libtards will get the blame for making that happen.

Considering a pro-trump agenda implies a complete disconnect with reality, I would fully expect any credible news source to have an "anti-trump agenda."

I wonder if Kim got phone calls from David Dennison, John Barron, and John Miller telling him that Trump was a great and trustworthy guy?

Trump has not faced a crisis yet. There are plenty of people on both the left and the right with serious concerns about how he would perform if faced with one. Given what his personality traits have been shown to be, with good reason.

Not true, he just hasn't solved a crisis yet. The entirety of Puerto Rico can attest to how he handles a crisis involving US citizens.

I'm getting whiplash.

"How could he say bad things about him when we need to negotiate"

"How could he praise a dictator"

"I'll take 'Can't Win Either Way' for $200 Alex"

And on the other hand, we have his supporters who cheer when he mocks and belittles him, then they cheer when he calls Kim the best thing ever. Nothing he could do would make them do anything but cheer. He could take a dump on the Vietnam Memorial and his supporters would cheer him for attacking the military deep state.

This could go one of two ways. The extremes would be:

1) Kim turns over a new leaf. At Trump's urging he disarms, opens his society and seeks peace with South Korea. He hands over control to a more democratic government and remains on as figurehead.

2) Kim is emboldened by the worldwide recognition and fame and the acquiescence of the US. He parlays that into more control over his populace, and he continues to build his weapons stockpile so he gets even more acquiescence, recognition and fame - since it worked before.

If it trends towards 1) - great. If it trends towards 2) - bad.

Anyone who can not see that the main result of this meeting is Kim's first step into acceptance as a nuclear power state for NK is not looking clearly at the history and his stated goals. Trump has been played. Other Presidents have been played before, but not a well as Kim has done. But that is to be expected of a dotard.

Unfortunately I think that's the more likely outcome. Now that the US has legitimized his regime, he can spend decades promising slight reductions in his nuclear program and trading those promises for reduced sanctions and US cooperation.

Actually, the more I think about it the more I come to the conclusion that this is the only possible outcome other than war with NK. No matter who is POTUS. NK did the work, and made the sacrifices. They are not going to give up their hard won security. The chances of them abandoning nukes is approximately the same as the chances of the USA or Israel doing so.

Trump's latest tweets:

"Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea."

"Before taking office people were assuming that we were going to War with North Korea. President Obama said that North Korea was our biggest and most dangerous problem. No longer - sleep well tonight!"

So don't worry about a thing.

Of course, he's also the guy who said "Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!"

But I guess now he's a trustworthy nuclear-armed madman.

Well, you said it.

Here's the thing: you may think your statement was railing against liberal partisanship, but what you were actually doing was supporting pro-Trump partisanship.

Trump deserved to be criticised for calling Kim "Little Rocket Man" and getting sucked into a public war of personal insults that made them both sound like children in a playground argument.

Trump deserves to be criticised for praising Kim's leadership of his country and claiming his people love him when he is actually a totalitarian dictator who is continuing a generations old campaign of terror against his own people.

Expressing both of these criticisms is not remotely hypocritical, and pretending it's a Catch 22 that Trump couldn't avoid is simply helping to enable the radicals like Nolhtairt and Rush brush the points aside without having to think about them.

FOX News proclaims that criticism of Kim Jong Un is indirectly criticism of Trump. After Rubio attacked Kim, saying he "is a total weirdo who would not be elected assistant dog catcher" anywhere else, FOX had this to say:

“You’ve been tweeting a lot over the past 24 hours, and some have looked at your tweets as not only a criticism of Kim Jong Un, but some have seen them as a criticism as the president”

So NO MORE CRITICISM of Kim or Putin! That's tantamount to criticizing Trump. Why can't the libtards attack our actual enemies, like Canada or the free press?

It's obvious you don't watch CNN. On the contrary, on all the shows last night and this morning, the hosts were stating that Trump definitely has chosen a different path to getting Kim to the table, and gotten further with the dictator than any previous administration (read: they're admitting that Trump did a good thing here). They still agree that Trump got nothing substantial out of it while Kim got legitimacy and some exercises canceled. But, they also reported that they hope the president's faith in the progress and process will yield some positive outcomes. They will wait to see what Kim actually does to follow up these promises/claims before passing judgement on the whole endeavor.
