WanderMan 0 #1 August 7, 2018 Looking for shoes/equipment suggestions that will give maximum padding and protection to my ankles and knees. I really want to skydive more, but I've had some long-term issues with my ankles and knees. I'm thinking I want shoes with a whole ton of padding, and maybe some ankle braces and knee braces. Any suggestions of what specific brands/items would be best for this? Also, when I tandem jumped I was able to just land sitting down because my instructor did the walking. Is a sitting landing possible in a solo-dive? Are there any other methods of landing that might be more easy on my ankles and knees?
wmw999 2,120 #2 August 7, 2018 big canopies are your friends. My first square was 230 sq. ft. (I weighed on the order of 120). Every landing was tippy-toe. You might be minorly limited in the winds, but you'll be landing softly. Consider a BASE canopy, used as a main, or anything that's designed to land you without a lot of forward speed.
