Bruce Brown, the filmmaker has died.

I saw The Endless Summer in 1966 in the auditorium of a local high school.

I was completely taken by the film. I recently watched it again; something about 'you can never go home again' came to mind.

ETA: I am thinking I actually saw it the summer of '65, before he could get into theaters; why I saw it in the school auditorium.

I saw it about the same time in a theater. I tried surfing for a little while. Discovered I couldn't swallow the whole ocean.

Beautiful movie. A glimpse into a sub-culture. I found another one a few years later.

Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done.

I must have seen that movie 20 times. One of the most evocative bits of filming ever.
