Puerto Rico Air National Guard C130 crash

Recommended Posts

It was apparently on its last flight, on the way to Arizona to be decommissioned.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=56&v=ldwWfQb4Odo Plane can be seen starting at 23 seconds. And again at about 2:40. This second camera view shook from the force of the explosion.

Anybody have any idea what might have happened? Just for speculation's sake.

Holy shit!:o
When I heard a news report that it dove nose-first into the ground, I thought it was just sloppy reporting.
I didn't know there was video!

ETA: First guess at the cause: Flaps did not retract simultaneously?

"The plane, from the 156th Airlift Wing in Puerto Rico, had been in Savannah for "a number of days" undergoing routine maintenance before heading to the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group in Arizona, he said. AMARG, also known as "The Boneyard," is an Arizona facility where the military keeps thousands of aircraft, as well as spacecraft.
Boone said he couldn't specify what type of maintenance the aircraft underwent."
