Smitty23 0 #1 July 16, 2018 How long does it take you to travel to your home dropzone? I've relocated and the DZ I intend to jump at next year is about 1 hour 10 mins away, which isn't too bad. Does anyone have a mega commute they do regularly?
mrubin 0 #2 July 16, 2018 It takes me 1.5-2 hours each way, depending on traffic."I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

neilmck 36 #5 July 16, 2018 From 3 to 4 hours each way depending on traffic.. I live near Paris France. The international airports have sucked up the airspace over the last 20 years.
dthames 0 #6 July 16, 2018 4 hours each way for me. I do it as a day trip and normally do 6 wingsuit jumps per day. 7 jumps would leave me dangerously tired on the return trip. This last year was a bit slow but before that, 2 times a month was common, on average.Instructor quote, “What's weird is that you're older than my dad!”
tripp9r 2 #7 July 16, 2018 3 dropzone (including my home dz) within 40 minutes of driving... And maybe like 7 within 1.5 hours :)
yeyo 1 #8 July 16, 2018 1 hour drive...if this DZ closes, the next one closer is a 3 hour plane ride plus 1 hour by car.HISPA #93 DS #419.
Crispy. 0 #9 July 16, 2018 Three DZs that run otters and can be reached in 1.5 hours or less. My home DZ is just under an hour, though.

Meanee 1 #13 July 17, 2018 Hour and a half one way. I have 3 dropzones approximately same distance from home. I just pick the one that costs a bit less in tolls and is not far from interstate. One requires you to drive through a shitload of backroads. Another one is a toll road all the way to it and then some backroads.
sedsquare 14 #14 July 17, 2018 50 minutes now. Before I moved, it was 6.5 or 7 hours one-way, depending on traffic.

massis 2 #18 July 18, 2018 Home DZ is 15mins. Seconds DZ (same club) is 40 mins. There's 20+DZ's within a 100 mile radius from my place, spread over 4 countries (the Benelux & Germany)
mathrick 2 #19 July 18, 2018 Currently 1h15 - 1h20. On the way back more like 1h30. Used to be 45 min at one point, but then I moved and the DZ commute increased (but also my work commute went from almost an hour down to about 6 minutes or 8 by bike, so it's still a massive win)."Skydivers are highly emotional people. Unstable 8 #24 July 19, 2018 1 hour 10 minutes. I am a dad with kids, job, wife, house, etc - so I can't be at the DZ all weekend every weekend. Usually I jump every Saturday and I go out early early and head home after lunch. That works really well for me.=========Shaun ==========
