New Xfire vs Crossfire 3

I think you should check out Tesla from Fluidwings as well.

Xfire, has a short recovery arch, the Crossfire should be longer.

I have not flown the X-Fire, but I do own a Crossfire3 and put about 350 jumps on it.
One guy at my dropzone got a demo X-Fire to try. What I saw there, and what I see from the videos online, the X-Fire is definitely the more aggressive / sporty canopy and has a longer recovery arc compared to the Crossifre3.

That being said, I still love my Crossfire3 and you can have a lot of fun with it doing 90s, 270s and whatever you like :)

Crispy.

***Trying to figure out which canopy to start to learn to swoop on and the pros and cons of each. Heard mixed review and many people haven’t flown both. Help please!

What does your canopy coach say?

X2

Also why not demo the canopies you're interested in?

I have a 149 crossfire 3 but only got 4 jumps on the xfire and really liked it but trying to decide what’s next. Thanks for that. Wish I could demo both but if there aren’t any used xfire for sale by July I’m screwed because I presold this to a buddy for July haha

I could demo them at that time but will need on right away in July which if there is no used for sale kinda screwed because my buddy is buying this one. Think I’m going to try for the xfire worst case I can sell it and there will be a bunch of crossfire 3 for sale by then too

I have >200 jumps on crossfires at different loadings, and presently jump a x-fire 113 (for about 70isch jumps now). In my opinion, the recovery arc is about the same (short).

The x-fire however feels more responsive in the harness, the first few jumps it even felt a little twitchy coming from a crossfire2 one size larger.

Also, the x-fire opens noticeably faster than the crossfire2. In my opinion this is a good thing, but in practice it is really a matter of personal preference. Both canopies open very well.

I must say tough that, at least when doing double fronts to 90-degree landings (I dont do any bigger turns), I would really like my x-fire to have a longer recovery arc. The ideal canopy in my book would have the flight of the katana and the openings of the x-fire...
