obelixtim 127 #1 March 4, 2017 The skydiving world today lost one of its special talents. A great skydiver, innovator and thinker. One of lifes special people. I've known him since he was a student skydiver, but his talent and skill left us far behind, long ago. Anyone jumping an Icarus canopy.....spare him a thought today. And thank him. RIP Jyro.My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....

Oh my god this terrible news. Ive known paul since at least the early eightys, this just sucks. What happened? He was a true innovater. I remember him designing and building gear bags at Jim McLeans house when they were roomies, he took that raw talent and went far with it. The world has lost a true innovator. RIP Jyro. rinaldi524 0 #5 March 5, 2017 We at Strong Enterprises have so much to say and yet words at this moment are elusive. Jyro was everything everyone knew him to be. I can only say, ‘Love for real, not fade away.’ Goodbye for now Jyro. Marcie
cutaway1 3 #6 March 8, 2017 Was this the same Jyro who came originally from New Zealand? If so we knew him well years ago when he was in Hawaii, a great guy; what happened?SCR-
obelixtim 127 #7 March 9, 2017 Yeah, same Jyro....they only made one of him. NZ 4 way RW team, founder of NZ Aerosports, maker of all things Icarus. Known and loved around the world. Passed away in LA last Saturday..... Real name Paul Martyn, but has always been known as Jyro. When asked why he was called Jyro, the reply epitomised his attitude.
