Tom Risk - Jump pilot

Recommended Posts

Tom Risk was a jump pilot in Littleton, Colorado in the mid '70s, and was the pilot for many of my jumps.

Tom made his career as a firefighting Airtanker pilot. He lost his life while flying an Airtanker on April 25, 2009.

From neptuneaviation.com:
"Tom Risk was the Captain of T42 for Neptune Aviation. Tom had 42 years of aviation experience, 28 of those years in heavy air tankers. He began his air tanker career with Hawkins and Powers out of Greybull, Wyoming, flying C-119, C-97, and PB4Y where he worked for twenty years. He joined Neptune Aviation in 2007. We welcomed his vast experience and knowledge of heavy air tankers. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and employee. He was a hard working man who put God and family first, but was always there to step up when duty and the company called. His courage and skill as a tanker pilot made his family and all of his co-workers as Neptune very proud. He was a man willing to express himself, full of wisdom and a keen sense of humor. He will be missed by all in the aerial firefighting industry and especially by his Neptune team. He leaves behind loving wife Janie, mother Kathryn, two sisters, daughters Sunny and Shelly and grandchildren."

Blue Skies, Tom.

Jeff

Blue Sky's Tom Risk. Say hello for us to the many skydivers up there with you looking for a ride to altitude.

Thank you for your service to others.

My condolences to his family and friends.
