In just a few moments folks, on live TV, we shall all finally witness the ever so mythical female orgasm, gushing with objectivity!

Meh, she faked it. Nothing to see here folks. He made a 150 million in 2005 and paid 38 million in taxes. The rest is all just sensationalized conjecture and more speculation. . .

Rachel Maddow + Trump's taxes = Geraldo Ravera + Al Capone's vault

OMG Trump only paid $35 million in federal income tax in 2005. Stop the presses.

But, but if he eliminates the alternative minimum tax he can travel back in time and pay only 5 million!

So he paid at a lower rate than my wife and I. For shame.

You need to find a new accountant and/or maybe get an accountant.

Or we reform tax code and close loop holes that drastically change effective tax rates of progressive tax brackets.

Apparently it's mostly Alternative Minimum Tax, something he is trying to eliminate.

Billionaires have tax avoidance options that aren't available to middle class folks.

I'd have to see the schedule A for deductions and the $103 million write down from line 21. Accounting for those two figures puts his tax rate at close to 100%.

Yes, most people aren't in a position to write down $103 Million. A privilege for the privileged.

(And his amazing business acumen is indicated by his having lost nearly $ BILLION running a casino, FFS).

And Bernie(13%) and Obama(19%) paid a lower rate.:D

Stick to college level teaching. You obviously know very little about the tax code and how business taxes operate.

This is one of the reasons he is resisting. A bunch of half-baked accountant wannabes trying to understand his tax filings. It would take an office of accountants months to figure out his 2005 return. You guys already have it? Please...

Yet everybody on the right is a scientist....

Tax returns are too difficult to understand for the common people. Science is so easy, I can easily see how those people with PhDs have no clue what they are talking about.

Republican logic at its finest.

Personally I think Trump/Bannon leaked this 2 pager themselves.

OK Genius, when was the last time you wrote down $103 Million or "lost" a $Billion running an enterprise that is basically a license to print money?

AMT hits a lot of mid-level earners pretty hard. It kicks in at about $100k after deductions are added back in for the calculation.

The algorithm may need adjusting to account for inflation, but if it were eliminated altogether, people like Trump would pay almost nothing. Over $30M of Trump's taxes were AMT and STILL he paid at a lower rate than your typical family doctor or dentist.

Believe it or not but there are plenty of democrat leaning tax lawyers that would have his returns analyzed and dissected. Like a tuna in a sushi restaurant. Just as fast.

Don't be intimidated by the number of zeros. GAP is the same for everyone. The real question is whether he is a cash or accrual customer.

I don't write of millions but I don't make millions either. Has it ever occurred to you that swing losses can be part of a strategy?

With a sensible tax code we wouldn't need "strategy".
