The parts where it showed people were very hazy in actual policy proposals. Where it showed they had fears of Muslim terrorist attacks in their little towns and how they were complaining about those "Chicago People" coming to town.

Those things are indeed all stupid comments, but they come from the people you identify so closely with. You would have known if you had read the article.
