Good points. I'll still contend the worst of the worst leaks were from Trump's own mouth......which clearly would have had the effect of making more people vote pro-Hillary ... wmw999 2,120 #127 December 14, 2016 The problem with that is all the people who like him because he "tells it like it is" (at least like it is for them). Of course, they're not as understanding when someone else, like, maybe, someone black, female, or Muslim, tells it "like it is." Political correctness is always practiced by those without power. Otherwise, they lose. "telling it like it is" is best practiced by people who have the money and do the firing etc. And when someone in power does it for you, well, then you figure you'll get some of that power, too. ryoder 1,381 #134 December 14, 2016 NYT: The Perfect Weapon: How Russian Cyberpower Invaded the U.S. [/url]http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/13/us/politics/russia-hack-election-dnc.html Yared Tamene, the tech-support contractor at the D.N.C. who fielded the call, was no expert in cyberattacks. His first moves were to check Google for “the Dukes” and conduct a cursory search of the D.N.C. computer system logs to look for hints of such a cyberintrusion. By his own account, he did not look too hard even after Special Agent Hawkins called back repeatedly over the next several weeks — in part because he wasn’t certain the caller was a real F.B.I. agent and not an impostor. “I had no way of differentiating the call I just received from a prank call,” Mr. Tamene wrote in an internal memo, obtained by The New York Times, that detailed his contact with the F.B.I. ARGH!!!15 years ago a friend of mine was working at an ISP. A caller claiming to be FBI called him about a breakin. So he told the caller: "I'm going to hang up and call the local FBI phone number. When I get in, what extension number or department do I need to ask for to reach you?" So in about one minute he had called in via the FBI's local public number, and had the same guy on the line."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Bob_Church 7 #135 December 14, 2016 I think the real mystery, and I hope I live long enough for it to become public, is how Clinton got the nomination. And I'm not talking about the Bernie thing, I think we was smoke, deliberately allowed to run so the DNC could present some illusion of an actual primary decision by the voters. We have an entire nation full of Democrats that would have been better choices, Governors, Senators, Used Car salesmen, but there was never really any question. For some reason the one person so corrupt and hated that even Donald Trump could beat her was nominated. People are upset that Trump got elected, and I understand that, but I don't know why they aren't looking at the DNC as the source of their grief. Bob_Church 7 #136 December 14, 2016 A friend of mine who is very active in Virginia politics and a serious Hillary Clinton supporter even had trouble with it. Here's what he said about one event he attended. This is when the DNC was supposed to be seeing who their rank and file, the voters, wanted to represent them in the 2016 election. "I was at the Virginia convention, and the partiality shown by state figures at the opening of the convention was outrageous. It began with the religious convocation, at which the minister said he was praying for Hillary's success. It was followed by major state figures, saying they were glad to be there with like-minded Democrats to nominate the first woman candidate for president of a major political party in the US. And it went on and on. "

"I was at the Virginia convention..." Ok Bob, but you and your friend are confused. The Virginia DNC convention was in July, and at that convention they decide who the delegates are. However the Virginia DNC primary was in March, and it is at the primary that the DNC find out who Virginia democrats want to be the nominee. Almost all of the Virginia delegates chosen at the convention are bound to vote according to the results of the Primary. So yeah, no shit the Virginia DNC convention was biased towards Hillary - they already knew that she'd won the Virginia primary (by a lot), and by that point they already knew that she'd won enough other primaries and caucuses to win the National Convention. She was, at that point, already the presumptive nominee.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
billvon 2,395 #138 December 15, 2016 ============================= U.S. Officials: Putin Personally Involved in U.S. Election Hack by William M. Arkin Dec 14 2016, 6:31 pm ET U.S. intelligence officials now believe with "a high level of confidence" that Russian President Vladimir Putin became personally involved in the covert Russian campaign to interfere in the U.S. presidential election, senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News. Two senior officials with direct access to the information say new intelligence shows that Putin personally directed how hacked material from Democrats was leaked and otherwise used. The intelligence came from diplomatic sources and spies working for U.S. allies, the officials said. Putin's objectives were multifaceted, a high-level intelligence source told NBC News. What began as a "vendetta" against Hillary Clinton morphed into an effort to show corruption in American politics and to "split off key American allies by creating the image that [other countries] couldn't depend on the U.S. to be a credible global leader anymore," the official said. Ultimately, the CIA has assessed, the Russian government wanted to elect Donald Trump. ============================== http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/u-s-officials-putin-personally-involved-u-s-election-hack-n696146

gowlerk 1,905 #144 December 15, 2016 Now that Vlad and Don have the levers of power in their sight what will be the next move? Russia and America have been allies before, and it can happen again. If Stalin can do it surely Putin can as well. All they need is a good mutual enemy. Where do you suppose they can find one? Only two choices. The Muslim world, or China. Germany is busy trying to hold Europe together. Great Presidents do great things. And there is nothing greater for leaving a mark in history then a great war. Maybe it would be best for the world if the Taiwan retook it's place as the natural ruler of China.
