Russia swayed US election

Recommended Posts

This is the same New York Times that was openly hostile to Trump during and after the election, was in the tank for the democratic nominee, and is desperate to make up for lost market share.
A senior editor actually admitted to bias, the NYT has lost a great deal of credibility.

Why not continue to promote this narrative for the above reasons?

Was there another time when a foreign country interfered with our election? I really don't know. Can you point out another time when this happened? I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, just asking.

None that I know of.

My point had nothing to with the past howerver. My point is the left is in so much denial over the election. Russian interference (if there really was any) would just help them continue to try and de-legitimize a Trump presidency.

You know there has to be some other reason than Hillary jost lost to a.better candidate. No.way. Cause any thinking person would not vote.for Trump normally. So it had to be the Russuians!

This appears to be all political to me at this piont anyway.

The progressive liberal socialists are in such a dither. They have to look at the glass as half empty. There has to be multiple problems because they believe they are the only ones intelligent enough to fix them. They create false problems so they can solve them. Achievers can't solve problems only the intellectual elite can find answers. Their world has been shattered. Somebody, some nation, something must be blamed. What to do? What to do?

The ego desires and creates conflict in order to justify itself. The stronger the ego the greater the belief in self justified intellectual capability.

The spirit is the counter force against the power of intellectual endeavors. The Holy Spirit is the epitome of spiritual guidance.

When the Spirit is given the freedom to move it will defeat logic every time.

We don't need a foreign government to interfere. We have the DNC for that.

Bipartisan Senate Group Calls for Probe of Russian Hacking in US

A group of Democratic and Republican senators are calling for bipartisan support for an investigation into cyberattacks against the United States by foreign governments following reports of alleged Russian efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Saying that cyberattacks by foreign governments pose "grave threats" to U.S. national security, the senators' statement said: "This cannot become a partisan issue. The stakes are too high for our country."

Two Democratic senators -- Chuck Schumer of New York and Jack Reed of Rhode Island joined two Republican senators -- John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina -- in issuing the statement.

The presidential election is about politics? Who knew? ;)

Look, I'm a progressive liberal, and I'm not in denial about anything. Trump won. From my point of view, that sucks, but there's nothing to do but move forward. I think the Ruskies probably did throw a bit of a monkey wrench into things, but we've done this lots of times to other countries. And crying about it won't help. The Dem's just need to find a better candidate next time.

I apreciate your point of view.
Also
I hope the R's do better next time too.
That said I hope that both candidates are outsiders as well.

Best you can do?
For such an edumacated guy, weak as usual.

I know anything from Fox News makes your head explode, but it's here, from a NYT editor, the admission of bias.

The messenger doesn't change the evidence admitted to, it's all there in living color.

Trump is a lying liar. A shameless lying liar. Over and over again it's the same thing. How can you tell Trump is lying? Easy, his mouth is open and sound is coming out of it. Apparently many people are alright with that. This is what I can not understand. Why is it alright?

But I guess in my heart I know the answer. He is telling the lies that people want to hear. That is what makes it okay.

God bless America, you are going to need Her help.

My comments weren't pro or anti Trump.
I was simply saying there was real, measurable media bias in supposedly objective media outlets, many of them.

False narratives are almost the norm now, my vocation has been the brunt of many of them. They are a major factor in why Trump was elected IMHO.

My original reply was simply a factual observation, it has been countered by the usual emotional knee-jerk reactions.
Quite sad really.

> I can only suppose (based on Obama's history as President regarding this issue) it

There would be rioting in the streets if the US discovered that ISIS caused Clinton to be elected.

Yes, many news outlets are biased against lying liars. Everyone should be biased against lying liars. Most of the R party was biased against their own nominee because of his lying lies. Are you not biased against liars? There IS objectivity in calling Trump a liar. Because he doesn't tell the truth. That is not wrong, that is decency.

I see, because you and people like you have the ultimate say on decency and moral obligation.
Everyone else just isn't as enlightened and inclusive as you are.
OK, I get it.

(And you wonder how guys like Trump get elected)

Lying is lying. Your mother taught you that. You are claiming media bias. I'm explaining that people are biased against what they know is wrong, and the media is made up of people. Most of the leadership of his own party understand that, and warned against him. And you will come to understand it as well. The people who voted for him also know that he is a liar. They chose not to make that a deciding factor. But they still know it and so do you.

I'm not claiming it, there was admitted bias, that is a fact.

Your moral relativism claim is simply not true, whether you like it or not is not relevant to the facts presented.

That's nice. But I'd rather believe the CIA report when it comes out. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Russia caused Trump to win. But they likely tried to. The "media" is likely to continue to have problems with Trump as long as he holds office. Because he will continue to lie and throw tantrums when he gets called out on it. He is going to drag the office of the President through the dirt. And when the media calls him on it, both he and his supporters will cry foul.

It is going to be a Gong Show extraordinaire.
