On Fox, Trump Supporter Carl Higbie Cites Japanese Internment Camps As "Precedent" For Muslim Registry

Yup, just like they did in Germany in the 30's.

But still, rushmc will not believe it. Something about head in the sand or something; my memory is not so good anymore. :P

Also, Hitler put a lot of thugs into top positions; hmmmmmm.

Nazis Call Trump's Plan for Muslims 'Derivative'

WASHINGTON – In an intellectual property lawsuit filed in federal court on Thursday, a group of prominent Nazis accused President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team of “intentionally copying” key tenets of their political ideology for use in their Administration’s policy-making. Rinehart Krolz, the Delaware-based Nazi who organized the lawsuit, said specifically that the Trump camp’s plan to register Muslims and track their movements was so “derivative of our copyrighted material” that he and fellow Nazis felt compelled to file the suit. “As much as we Nazis may agree with a lot of things Donald Trump is doing, at the end of the day we have to protect our brand,” Krolz said.

So, let's get you on the record then.

Rush, do you believe all Muslims in the US should be registered into a government database?

You can just answer yes or no. It's a simple question.

No

We need better control over all immigration, legal and especially illegal. If an immigrant/refugee is from the Middle East, additional vetting and tracking may be needed, regardless of their stated religion which may or may not be true.

And how many people who claim "we need more vetting", actually know how the vetting is being done currently???

That's just for Syria. Plenty of other countries in the area that similar measures may be needed.

Well you could argue it is a duty, but the amendment to let women vote clearly states it as a right.

It also specifically states that the right to vote is a right held by citizens...

I don't know why your posting that to me. I am not arguing to deprive anybody of any rights.

If we have better vetting available, why would we not apply it to everyone? It seems foolish to give terrorists an easier way in.

And does this better vetting apply to a Christian fleeing Iran, but not a Muslim immigrating from Indonesia?

Seems foolish indeed.

I guess my concern about the vetting process from the ME is one of whom to believe. I'm pretty certain that if you call INS in Aleppo today the only sound you'll get is one of bombs exploding. And a call to the Saudis might get some sort of non sensical response on whether Haji was a good person while he was in Ryad.

To me it's the same as when the distraught mother of the gunman says "he was such a good boy".

Back in the 80's Castro shit all of his prisons on us. I'll bet if you had called City Hall in Havana they might not have mentioned Raul's penchant for knives.

Registry for Muslims - perfectly OK. A few Muslims might be dangerous, after all. Better safe than sorry. If it protects Americans, it's worth the minor inconvenience. And no one will abuse it.

Registry for guns - what are you, Hitler?

Well, democrats are in favor of registering guns and gun owners, because a few of them might end up becoming criminals.

So what's the difference with registering muslim from a terrorist nation because a few of them might be terrorists?

If it's good enough for American gun owners, it ought to be good enough for muslim immigrants.

So for muslamics clearly it'll be a crescent moon, that's obvs.

But what shape badge will it be for the Mexicans? A taco? Or would that look to similar to a crescent moon? Both groups are kinda brownish after all.

Muslim (Islam) is a religion, not a race or nationality.

Yes. If Republicans require registration of all gun owners, they would have a stronger argument for registration of Muslims. (Still not a great argument, but a less hypocritical one at least.) Do you support registration of gun owners?

No silly, per our current gun laws and anti-gun movements, it's not the people or act that is important, it's the tools/associations. :)
Blaming gun violence on the guns makes as much sense as blaming Islamic terrorism on all Muslims.

Perhaps now it's deal time, one side stops blaming violence on guns and the other will stop blaming all Muslims for terrorism.

No. No deal. People and guns are not equivalent. I do not and will not ever equate the human rights of people to live with the rights of objects to exist.

Feel free to quibble and parse that any terms you want, but that's all you'll be doing and it's bullshit.

This is all about immigrants, legal and illegal, and refugees. Not American citizens.

Are you in favor of immigrants being required to:

A) State their religion for the record, and

B) Being placed on a list if that religion is one of the many forms of Islam?

Agreed. We do NOT need to make the mistakes Germany made bringing in thousands of unvetted Syrian refugees with bad mofos embedded within. They've got a clusterfuck to deal with.

Partly because there's an ocean to cross to get here. Makes things easier for us. But we probably earned that, too :P

Luckily those thousands of Syrians haven't yet started walking over the atlantic the way they walked through the Balkans to Germany.
