Obama's legacy

ObamaCare tried to remake a sector that constitutes one-eighth of the economy from the ground up.

Not really. Not if you actually look at what the law does.

What it does is fail, and fail in spectacular fashion.

"Like your doctor, keep your doctor. FAIL
"Save $2500 per family. FAIL
Increase competition. FAIL
Reduce emergency room visits. FAIL
Insure twenty million people by 2016. FAIL
Bend the cost curve to a sustainable one. FAIL
Provide additional choice via co-0ps. FAIL

Yet another one[:/]

"Scott & White Health Plan, which is part of Baylor Scott & White Health, has dropped its plans affiliated with the Affordable Care Act, which is commonly referred to as Obamacare, the company said.

The plans were available on the Healthcare Marketplace.

“The market for our individual Marketplace plans carries higher risk than other plans,” according to a question-and- answer post on the Scott & White Health Plan website. “Like many other health insurers, we have determined that we cannot currently service Marketplace plans on an effective and financially sustainable basis.”"

It looks like we all were wrong. According to the Chicago Tribune, it has already failed.

It's a funny thing. You keep posting these items and gloating about it. And you are correct, the system is unsustainable and it always was. The funny part is going to come when whatever government is in power fixes it. I can hardly wait to hear your howls of protest as the system slowly moves closer to one payer! (One payer being YOU of course)

If that comes to pass, where will Canadians go for timely, quality healthcare?

Speaking only for myself, I went to Calgary South Medical. Nice modern place. Latest in equipment. World-renowned specialists.

It was great to have a leading-edge medical procedure that is being "investigated as a protocol" by your FDA.

And did it it on less than 20 days notice.

Try not to swallow the propaganda being promulgated by your private insurance lobby. It's not so bad up here.

>On a more positive note regarding Obama's legacy

What a poor performer. I guess having tiny deficits is OK with Barack Saddam Hussein Obama. That's his plan you know; to steal the deficit from the American people.

Trump does the best deficits; no one can do bigger and better deficits than Trump. He will make the deficit great again.

On a more positive note regarding Obama's legacy

Let's see.

If I am making $50,000 a year, am $250,000 in debt, and spending $1,400 a month more than I am taking in, should I then get a prize for reducing my overrun to only $500 a month more than I make?

Looking at the graph, I note that Obama has spent more than GWB did before the subprime bubble popped in every year except the last - and GWBs made drunken sailors look like paragons of fiscal responsibility (when drunken sailors run out of money, they usually quit spending).

This goes to show why attorneys should be barred from public office. There is no math requirement for either a JD or the Bar.

If eight years ago you were spending $2000 more than you make, then you are at least heading in the right direction.

Obama's legacy

Personally, I think it is way too early to even begin to discuss Pres. Obama's legacy. We need to wait about 10-15 yrs & then we can begin to consider it.

However, as of right now, Obama's numbers on his popularity are higher than any president since WW II at this time in his presidency.

Some might dislike him, but it would seem as though America is very satisfied with him.

That's about the 17th prediction you've made of its failure.

I switched from predicting its failure, to documenting it, several posts ago. Perhaps I should start a new thread to avoid confusion.

Well... the title of your thread is misleading, so if you do start a new thread maybe you could fix that.

Ah. So you are like all the Armageddon predictors who, after several failed predictions, claim "OK it's now the End Times! See, I was right!"

YES - This!!!

It's is no different than the climate change peeps.

Manhattan is still surprisingly not underwater!

Gasp - and the polar bears are still alive too!
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama
