And you think campaigning against Clinton, thereby helping Trump become president is the best way to ensure nothing bad happens in the future? Don't think Trump has a much better record being honest. You sound like Bush. If you aren't with us, you are against us. Don't be an idiot. With us or against us is a false dichotomy. Unless the Republican party schisms and gives rise to a credible, well supported Independent (and what are the chances of that?) then Trump vs Hilary is a real dichotomy. It will be one or the other.Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Do you believe in the concept of double jeopardy? If you think that applies in this context, you certainly don't! Uh huh . . . How many times should the government be allowed to "investigate" an incident involving a person after repeatedly finding not enough evidence to even try the person once? Should that be something that is allowed to happen for the rest of a person's life? Unfortunately, yes. She hasn't been "put in jeopardy" (put on trial) at all. They haven't charged or tried her. So the idiots in Congress can "investigate" her as many times as they want. The FBI can continue to investigate her as long as it wants. She can be indicted any time they decide they have enough evidence to warrant charges (subject to the statute of limitations, of course). Fortunately, the FBI & Justice Dept seem to have enough sense to realize that there isn't sufficient evidence to bring charges. The Rs in congress on the other hand... airdvr 201 #81 July 7, 2016 I have to break my silence on this one. Sorry to those who were happy I was gone. I think Comey might have done an honorable thing. He might have fallen on the sword. Think about it... If he had recommended to Lynch that charges should be filed when do you think we would have known about it? I can almost guarantee it would have been after November. Instead he chose to be able to speak out now and expose her for whom we already know she is. In doing so he most definitely screwed himself over. Why would he do that? Once again w/r/t the Clinton clan; it's not the act it's the bald face lies. Most of us learned from childhood experience that lies don't usually work out for the liar very well. That's why we stop as an adult. Clintons (and it appears most pols) never learned that lesson. You may now return to your regularly scheduled programs. Please don't dent the planet. billvon 2,724 #82 July 8, 2016 >Actually, HE created his own standard under the law. Nope. The Republican head of the FBI used the same standard that has been used for years - indeed, that some of your heroes like Powell and Rice relied on. Using the same standard for everyone is how the law is supposed to work, no matter how much you want to fuck someone over. But don't take my word for it. Here's former federal prosecutor Laurie Levenson on the decision: “The only times I have seen these statutes used has been situations in which people knew they were disclosing classified, confidential information, or they could show they didn’t really care." Or defense attorney Abbe Lowell, who said that Comey's decision was "completely consistent" with the law. In cases where people were prosecuted for divulging classified information, "the one common denominator of all such cases is that the individual involved intentionally sent material to those not authorized to receive it, like the press, like a foreign government." Look, I know you are hurting. You wanted to fuck her over so bad you could taste it, but it turns out the law isn't on your side. You lost. You gambled that a partisan republican FBI director, one praised by the GOP over the years, could find some technicality to hang her with. But that failed, and you are going to have to live with it. Have some integrity and accept your failure. I'm sure there will be plenty of other democratic screwups in the years to come that will make you happy again. This sucks for the republicans as a whole, because now the only person facing a trial in this presidential race is Trump.
kallend 1,822 #83 July 8, 2016 turtlespeed***Hi turtle, QuoteIf they were indeed guilty, then yes. And Ms. Clinton has not been found guilty of anything. Care to tell us why you hate so much? Jerry Baumchen http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4804752;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Watch the featured video. How much do you like blatant lying shoved in your face and special treatment handed out? Comey is a registered Republican, former member of GWB's administration, who has job security. (a) what motive does he have for giving special treatment? (b) Since when do prosecutors who find no grounds for bringing charges then go on TV to castigate the subject of an enquiry? VERY unprofessional. (c) How do we know HE'S telling the truth?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
