When the IRA was bombing and shooting hundreds of people in Britain a few years ago there wasn't an outcry about deporting Catholics, how RC was a religion of hate, etc., etc. Rather, there were collections taken up in Boston, NYC and San Francisco (among other places) to buy weapons for IRA terrorists.

At various times pretty much all religions have had extremist followers who commit atrocities in the name of their religion.

How many people have atheists killed for the purpose of promoting atheism?

http://listverse.com/2010/06/05/10-people-who-give-atheism-a-bad-name/

But what's a couple million anyway?
What difference, at this point, does it really make now anyway?

Don't forget Enver Hoxa and the atrocities committed in the name of State Atheism.

Having a little reading comprehension problem this morning?

His comprehension seems fine.

From the Article:
"estimates of the total number murdered under Stalin’s reign, range from 10 million to 60 million. His government promoted atheism with mass propaganda in school, and held a terror campaign against the religious. He crushed the Russian Orthodox Church, leveling thousands of churches and shooting more than 100,000 priests, monks and nuns between 1937 and 1938."

Of those, Stalin's actions against the churchies are the only ones that even remotely quality for what Kallend is talking about. The rest are just people being cunts that would have been cunts no matter what their person belief was.

Yet you didn't apply that marginalization until it was atheism that was being criticized - nice double standard.

I'm not sure if you guys are in denial or just trolling...

I'm not sure if you're naive or dumb. Nobody is out there going "I am killing you because atheism" but atrocities overtly in the name of some retarded fairy tale have been happening for thousands of years.

It's a bit ironic that France was on the right side of history and opposed the US led invasion of Iraq. Now they have to pay the price for the shithole that we created.

Kinda, but not that simple. France has a strong recent history of domestic racial and religious tensions that have little to do with the global scene.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Putin says we should stand together and do something about Isis. So far this is my favorite comment in regards to that.

The French have a lot of history less than 100 years ago in Syria, and not in a good way: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Mandate_for_Syria_and_the_Lebanon

Perhaps you could relate to some of the less militant tactics/ideologies of the LMG:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_of_Militant_Atheists
Quote

The League of Militant Atheists aided the Soviet government in killing clergy and committed believers. The League also made it a priority to remove religious icons from the homes of believers. Under the slogan, "the Storming of Heaven," the League of Militant Atheists pressed for "resolute action against religious peasants" leading to the mass arrest and exile of many believers, especially village priests....

... it had about 3.5 million members from 100 nationalities. It had about 96,000 offices across the country. Guided by Bolshevik principles of antireligious propaganda and party's orders with regards to religion, the League aimed at exterminating religion in all its manifestations and forming an anti-religious scientific mindset among the workers. It propagated atheism and scientific achievements, conducted 'individual work' (a method of sending atheist tutors to meet with individual believers to convince them of atheism, which could be followed up with harassment if they failed to comply)

...and tho people like Stalin, Hoxa and bigoted thugs like those above may not have always tortured or killed directly in the name of atheism, their oppressive intimidation was used in an attempt to maintain a level of state atheism and eliminate religious expression - it failed miserably.

hell, has there even BEEN any sort of official confirmation of the motive for these attacks??

Would it make you feel better about it if these people had a reason?

My point was that the poster to whom I was responding was already calling for the deportation of Muslims, without any Muslim group claiming responsibility nor any official word that this was an act of Islamic extremism. It was knee-jerk bigotry, and I was calling it out.

And I'm annoyed I'm having to explain this, you're smart enough to not need that.

If you mean Afghanistan, I don't recall any ridicule, criticism or attacks by anyone for our going into it do assist the Northern Alliance in taking down the Taliban.

If you mean Iraq, they had nothing to do with the attacks on New York or the Pentagon. NOTHING AT ALL!!!

As a matter of fact, the entity known as Daesh (ISIS) is a direct result of our going into Iraq and deposing Saddam Hussein and the Baath party.

Remember Rumsfeld talking about the 'Dead Enders' after the invasion? They don't seem to have gotten the message that they had no future at all and would lie down and give up.

For those always complaining that Muslims don't speak out against Islamic extremists, here is an Islamic leader condemning the Paris attacks. Of course, since ISIS is Sunni, and Hezbollah is Shiite, it's not a big surprise:

To be fair, our fucking around in that part of the world is why we had limited-time-only nonstop flights to the WTC in the first place.
