>Wrong, it was not a religion. It was the U.S.A.

Good! Then what the USSR and Nazi Germany did was done by countries, not by atheism.

Now as soon as Coreece gets that, we're done.

Did the US describe their methods as being in the name of Christianity?

The two of your choices above did claim that their motivations come from their beliefs.

>Did the US describe their methods as being in the name of Christianity?

Nope, just as neither the Germans nor the USSR claimed their methods were being done under the name of atheism. Again demonstrating that it had nothing to do with religion or lack thereof.

***It's a bit ironic that France was on the right side of history and opposed the US led invasion of Iraq. Now they have to pay the price for the shithole that we created.

Kinda, but not that simple. France has a strong recent history of domestic racial and religious tensions that have little to do with the global scene.

Yes lets pretend that what France did in Algeria and Morocco has nothing to do with the present problems among those French communities.

Again, you continue to ignore that the Soviets employed the League of Militant Atheists that did in fact intimidate and kill under the name of atheism.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_of_Militant_Atheists

The CPSU Central Committee delegated to the LMG full powers to launch a great antireligious attack with the objective of completely eliminating religion from the country, granting them the right to mobilize all public organizations.

In 1929, the Second Congress changed the society's name to The Union of Belligerent (or Militant) Atheists. At this Second Congress of Atheists, Nikolai Bukharin, the editor of Pravda, called for the extermination of religion "at the tip of the bayonet." There, Yaroslavsky also made the following declaration:

"It is our duty to destroy every religious world-concept... If the destruction of ten million human beings, as happened in the last war, should be necessary for the triumph of one definite class, then that must be done and it will be done."

congress called on public institutions to treat antireligious propaganda as an inseparable part of their work and to provide regular funding for it.

"There can be no doubt that the fact that the new state of the USSR led by the communist party, with a program permeated by the spirit of militant atheism, gives the reason why this state is successfully surmounting the great difficulties that stand in its way - that neither "heavenly powers" nor the exhortations of all the priests in all the world can prevent its attaining its aims it has set itself." - Yaroslavsky

muslim women (and i can guarantee that especially the lady in the video) are not forced to wear a scarf by anyone. sure, some are, but vast majority of us do it because we believe in the word of God.

my thoughts as a muslim about what happened in France: despicable, horrible, has nothing to do with religion, all politically motivated. i hope all those responsible with pay for it in this life and in afterlife.

only few days before Paris attacks over 40 people were killed in Beirut by ISIS. They also create havoc in Turkey. ISIS is a problem both for muslims and non-muslims.

Say what?

in deep far villages of certain countries with muslim majority where twisted culture prevails over religion, and education is unavailable some women might be forced to wear a scarf.

thoughts as a muslim Nazi about what happened in France: despicable, horrible, has nothing to do with religion National Socialism, all politically motivated. i hope all those responsible with pay for it in this life and in afterlife.

My reaction to people wearing Muslim regalia is the same as my reaction to people wearing swastikas. If anything, Nazis have more to recommend them.

I appreciate your sentiments. But I have to ask how you define 'politically' motivated.

'political' is kind of a catch all cynicism for anything we find distasteful that happens on a global scale - we could also say it's religiously motivated (if we specify a twisted interpretation of a religion - though I think I'd agree that the harsh twisting of a religion for power purposes is also something I'd call 'political' - but I tend to get cynical)

and politics and religion have gone hand in hand for centuries, so hard to split out the two in these situations

It's not what she was wearing, but what was said. Her clothing was just reinforcement.

"my religion promotes tolerance for women."

Promotes tolerance. Tolerance is what a religion should have for those who are non members. If the most they do is promote tolerance for certain DNA types that are their own followers, no wonder they have so many issues. :|

Even sadder is members of said DNA type in a country where they have freedom of choice, choose to be part of a religion that thinks so little of them.

So given a choice you'd prefer being with someone wearing swastikas to someone wearing a head scarf? Hmm. I guess you have different preferences than I do. But to each their own; the Nazis were effective.

With all due respect, what ISIS is doing has nothing to do with politics. It's PURE terrorism. They have absolutely no regard for life. They want a caliphate for themselves to rule as they want, and fuck anybody that disagrees with it.

I hope the world unites and kills every last one of them motherfuckers.

Politics is all about power. What ISIS is trying to accomplish is all about power. It certainly is about politics, and the politics of the middle-east are specifically completely.....fucked.

i always try to call people to look more into religion and not into people. Islam IS tolerant to any DNA or religion/ideology, in the times of the prophet (may peace be upon him) everyone lived under one roof, muslims, christians, jews and idol worshipping tribes, they all agreed to certain conditions of peace (no rebellions etc) and that gave them protection and rights to live as they live and have their own businesses etc

isis is a scum of the earth, they harm muslims and image of Islam not less than they harm non muslims. people spent their lifetimes explaining Islam to non muslims and those inhumans ruined all that was built in just couple of years. islamophobia is on the rise, not a single muslim benefits from this chaos.

politically motivated because they are basically illegal occupants. i agree with you, they are using twisted interpretation of religion as a political tool to obtain more power. game of words, we can name is as we want but what i am trying to say is that its not what my religion teaches, its not what Islam is.

Well, before ISIS started ruining it Al Qaeda was ruining it. And before them the Taliban were ruining it. And before them the Iranian Ayatollahs were ruining it. And at the same time as all of them the Saudis have been ruining it (although no one seems to mind about them because the Royals speak perfect english with posh accents and like respectable things such as horse racing and polo so really they're just like us).
