Well, in part because the definition of "fantasy" includes: QuoteA fantasy is a pleasant situation or event that you think about and that you want to happen It's pretty clear that you would like it to be a "false flag" operation, perpetrated by "the left" (financed by Soros perhaps?). That would remove any of the blame for it from anyone like you. Or anyone that you admire."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." My fantasy involves an end to events such as these. I know you would like for this event to somehow confirm your beliefs. But it's looking like the man was both alone, and not motivated by politics. Sometimes people just commit mass murder for the sheer joy of it I suppose. And along you come to try to blame it on the left. Just because you fear and hate the left. The world is changing Ron. I think we're pretty well versed that the rate of mass killings has zero effect on .... Actually, it looks like this is incorrect, or at least only partially correct - my family owns a gun store in LA and there wasn't any upsurge in sales after the Vegas shooting and I don't expect one after this. Every time there was a shooting incident when Obama was in office there was a huge upsurge to buy guns, ammo and modifications because the expectation was that some sort of legislation would be introduced in response. We're not seeing that type of reaction with a Republican government... The sales we're seeing suggest that gun owners don't think anything will change. You are the one who said that it was your fantasy that this was a false flag operation perpetrated by the left. Care to expand on why that is your fantasy? Care to tell me what positives would come out of that scenario vs the apparent reality that it was a disturbed individual acting alone for reasons only he knew? What exactly would make a "false flag operation by the left" better than what the reality seems to be? Why? That was as far as I thought about it. Paddock is a total mystery. The positives, from the progressive left POV, are that society would be so freaked out they would demand gun confiscation. The economy would suffer and Soros would make $Ms more on currency exchanges. It is not better than the reality. It is just as far as I rationalized it. Then I went back to my morning devotionals. SHTF is coming, Paddock was simply one of Satan's emissaries. That is my second rationalization. Bottom line is that it was a tragedy. Tragedies happen in the world every day. RonD1120 60 #819 October 19, 2017 Right wingies think it because that is the first thing the progressive left Democratic leaders in Congress stark talking about. In this forum kallend is the first to bring it up. Then billvon and you chime in. Of course you don't actually say confiscate all guns, you use the dog whistle phrase of expanding control of sales to eliminate guns falling into the hands of undesirable citizens.
