I was visiting my sister in San Diego, she didn't believe in television but woke me after hearing the news on the radio. I was going crazy not being able to watch on TV. She lived about a mile from an Indian casino so I headed there. It was absolutley amazing, 75% of the peole there were glued to every available TV. The other 25% were degenerate gamblers who never even bothered to look up from their tables or slot machines.

I was suppose to fly home the next day but we all know how that worked out. I ended up taking an Amtrak train back to the Bay Area. Of course the train ran over someone and we ended up being stuck in Fresno for 4 hours why they found another crew. What a week.

Man, you guys sure have some interesting stories.

I was sleeping...

I awoke to a barrage of voicemails..."Corey, where are you!" "Corey, where's Sean." "Corey, where's my son!" "Corey Goddammit, you better have not taken him to work with you. (to the Renaissance Center, Detroit...)

I was at a company called Keyhole, we spent most of the day distracted and monitoring the web for news. Within a day we obtained high resolution nadir satellite data of the smouldering crater and the surroundings and added that to our product and I remember spending some considerable time staring at that wreckage.

That software is now called Google Earth after an acquisition.

Just curious what the resolution was. I know it has improved, and I don't want to bash one of the coolest technological features we have these days, but there is room for much improvement...

*Edit*
Good shit tho...most of us didn't even have cell phones back then, right? Amazing...

I was on the Astoria-Megler Bridge and on vacation, headed to my boat at Hammond Oregon to kill some more salmon for the day. I got over to the Marina in time to see the second plane hit. I knew instantly that we were going to war and another generation of young people would get to experience losing their friends and becoming different human beings that what they might have been.[:/]

...doing daily putzing & household chores; with the tv on, when news broke of 1st tower being hit & watched as 2nd tower was hit.
I stayed glued to the news/tv the rest of the day as the rest of of the day's terror & horror unfolded...concerned for my son in law's safety, who worked for Chicago Board of Trade, wondering if Sears Tower would also be hit...

'Hubby' had just completed 1st jump course the weekend before, held off dz.
He was rigging up for his 1st jump-S/L when the skies were closed !
