I was thinking more along the lines of "If you are going to publicly show your bigotry, intolerance, ignorance and hatred; AND hide them behind your "religious beliefs," then don't be surprised when it comes back to haunt you in the future.

and yet the very same Liberals the late Trudeau SR lead made sure the government was deeply entrenched in the bedrooms of the nation. Of course it wasn't Trudeau SR who embedded the government into the bedrooms, it was one of his successors Alan Rock during the Chretien years who made sure that government was in the bedrooms. But Trudeau JR shows no signs whatsoever that government should be leaving the bedrooms. Of course Trudeau JR says only what his handlers tell him to say. Trudeau JR is a classic puppet politician. All glamor no substance.

But to clarify just in case that clever meme I found online wasn't obvious enough...In the not so distant future the bigoted redneck assholes who oppose gay marriage will be viewed just as retarded as those who opposed interracial marriages.

The issue of gay marriage will obviously be decided by the US Supreme Court very soon. What makes this federal Appellate Court opinion so significant is a couple of things: the Seventh Circuit is a very respected federal appellate court; the Seventh Circuit is normally thought to be a very conservative court, yet the came down squarely on the side of gay marriage; the opinion came down very quickly -- within days of the oral arguments, which means that the court had no internal debate as to the outcome of this case; this opinion not only shot down the arguments against gay marriage, it openly mocked those arguments; and Judge Posner is a very influential and respected judge. I suppose the Supreme Court could go the other way. But the judicial decisions in favor of gay marriage are piling up one after the other. If the Supreme Court did go the other way, the risk is that history might see it as the worst decision since Dred Scott. I understand that this is a very emotional issue for many people on both sides. But the writing is on the wall. Gay marriage will be a nation-wide reality sooner rather than later.
