In other words, they begin with the wrong premise from the get go. The poster assumes he already knows the answer and isn't looking for solutions; he's really looking for sympathy and confirmation of his belief system.

A better approach might be to assume you haven't even correctly identified the problem yet.

For some reason, I'm fairly certain that isn't going to happen though.

Cutting government expenses:

Divide all the agencies into three initial categories:
1. Expense
2. Self sustainable
3. Profit center

Start with those in the expense category and see if changes can be made to make them self sustainable or profitable. The military is one that could easily changed to a profit center if we started charging countries and corporations for their services. DOT is another.

Move to the self sustainable and see if changes can be made to make them profitable.

Use the profit to pay for the expenses and excess to paying off the debt.

If they're clearly sick - I'd tell them "come back later." But you're not going to catch even most of the diseases out there. Basically do the same thing that many countries do at airports.

Supposedly the SC thinks there is no longer discrimination. We also have legislatures trying to fix a problem that does not exist.. to directly discourage minorities in this country, just like the good ole days in the same places to prevent "those " people from voting. Solution: Make the seats and chairs on all appropriations committees earned by nationwide general election held a short time after each congressional/senatorial election.
