CNN is playing in my office. Not sure what this is about.

The stuff they have shown is texts between two aids making fun of a traffic jam. It appears to be suggested that they somehow caused it for political reasons. What CNN showed didn't actually indicate causation of any sort. Just some jokes about it. I saw a small script at the bottom of the screen that said there is no evidence Christie was involved. I presume Christie is a republican since Pierce Morgan has composed a panel to talk about Christie and hang it on his neck.

Is there any actual evidence of wrong-doing? Anything that indicates Christie knew about it? If there is, CNN hasn't shown it.
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

the emails between his top aids were in the news yesterday
They say it is time for that little town to have some traffic problems

Problem is, there were school busses and rescue vehicles caught up in the traffic jam the lane closures caused

I think a vindictive bully is just what we need in the Oval Office.

Actually, the only New Jersey Governor for whom I would vote for President is Christie Whitman.

Many years ago I walked into the office at Spitfire Aerodrome, 7N7, and the owner had a look of shock on his face.

"Do you know who that was that you just drove past? The Governor!"

It seems he had been having fits getting approvals for grants for upgrades to the airport, with roadblocks at every turn. Christie Whitman had walked into his office unannounced, shook his hand, and asked what he needed. For over an hour she asked key questions and took notes. She then thanked him for his time, said she would see what she could do, shook his hand and left.

She had driven herself, an hour each direction in a motor pool sedan, with no police escort or press presence. The airport now has had the runway repaved, new landing lights (I had become pretty good at landing in the dark), a rotating beacon and a non precision approach.

The difference between Christie Whitman and Chris Christie is night and day. I would vote for Christie Whitman in a heartbeat but I would not trust Chris Christie as far as I could throw him.

I guess you'd like Rod Blagojevitch too, then. He was a bully, and he called in at Skydive Chicago airport and asked much the same questions.

i didnt vote for Christie. i voted for my former boss Corzine. who is now famous for his last job which did not go as well as his tenure at GS. so not bragging just pointing out im no Christie Republican.

right now there is no evidence he was involved. what is known for sure is that he shot down the tunnel project and bad mouthed the teachers union. that makes him public enemy #1 in the eyes of the NYT and the rest of the media. the fact that he is a Republican governor makes him the natural enemy of all Democrats and liberals. so whether he was involved or not he will be punished for it. as evidenced by the replies by all the liberals here. who we all know would be defending him if he was a tunnel building, union loving Democrat. "he is the Governor and not responsible for what those guys did. he didnt know etc...." just insert their many defenses of how our President didnt know and isnt responsible.

straight answer- I think he will be damaged nationally. locally, not so much. thats pretty tame for NJ politics.

The first line was facetious. For the record, the last thing in hell I want is a vindictive bully in the Oval Office.

The difference between Rod Blagojevitch and Christie Whitman is night and day.

FWIW, Christie Whitman did a lot of her best work below the radar. Her goal was to get things accomplished for her constituency with the greatest bang for the buck.

Is Rod Blagojevitch still in prison?

BTW
It is too early to know if this will hurt him or not

I am just hoping

Chris Christie, is being pushed on us as GOP's main man for the 2016 elections. I'm with you, I hope he is cooked well done. It does appear as of now he had no direct knowledge...but the Dems are in a good position rightfully so to hang members of his administration for possible corruption.

Even if he didn't know, you can judge a person by the company/staff they keep.

I think he is toast.

Yes.

From what I am hearing, either he did know what was going on or he should have known about it.

Pretty vindictive.

And pretty stupid to think it wouldn't get out.

I disagree -- this is petty shit and he'll recover just fine. If there's anything that hinders his chances, it's his praise of Obama during hurricane Sandy. I can foresee his competitors in the primaries having a feast with that one.

Which replies would those be? Kallend is the only person who's replied that I would consider a liberal, and all he's done is post links to related articles. It's the conservatives who are all up in Christie's shit.

This is it. Even if he didn't give the specific order (which I'm not yet willing to grant), this thing lasted for 4 days; Christie wasn't aware of it while it was ongoing? Of course he was.

More to the point, he nurtured and nourished a culture in his office of "let's fuck those guys" for retribution, and he's most certainly responsible for that.

His throwing aides, etc. under the bus, while professing personal purity and virginity, is revolting. Not unlike the scene in Casablanca where the corrupt Vichy police commander professes to be "shocked, shocked, that gambling is going on" in Rick's nightclub, and then accepts his own gambling winnings.

oh, on second look i suppose i jumped to conclusions based on the responses. i dont know people here as well as i should and just assumed. i admit you are probably right.

if you remove the word "here" from the sentence, i believe my broader point is still made. liberals are attacking him and if he was a tunnel digging, union loving Dem, they would defend him. the fact that non liberals are attacking him reflects well on them. shows they believe in principals and are willing to call foul against one of their own.

Replace Christie with Obama and tell me if you still feel the same way.
[/partisan attack]

Back on topic, Christie is a huge POS, but so is almost every candidate for NJ governor and NJ federal office. I can't remember the last one that I though was a decent human being. Corzine CERTAINLY does not fit that description. Bill Bradley, Menedez, Pallone, Toricelli, or Lautenberg either. I still can't figure out how he was even allowed to run when law prohibited his entry. I had hopes for Forrester, but not much. I'm glad I don't vote there anymore; I don't miss having to crawl through the gutter each election cycle to find the least revolting choice.
