turtlespeed 212 #26 January 12, 2014 billvonI think people who support coal over nuclear are woefully uneducated, and tend to think more with their emotions than their minds. (And there are some people who don't even think about _that_, that just say things like "well just close them all down.") I don't have anymore than a layman's understanding of a nuclear power plants operation or safety measures. I completely agree with your statement above. We need to wean off of coal almost completely.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
Calvin19 0 #27 January 12, 2014 baronn Radiation is invisible. we could get into the semantics of this, but lets just assume you are blindly relying on context and get on with it. ionizing radiation is outside the visible spectrum, very true. However, it is easily detectable through many methods and easy to obtain instruments. Buy yourself a dosimeter, go do some testing of your own and with just the normal, harmless background radiation you will freak yourself out enough and add a new layer to your tinfoil hat.
