Didn't you get the memo? Progressives always have and always will be "Entitled to their Entitlements" and anyone who questions Progressives on their "Culture of Entitlements" is a homophobic, racist, bigot. ;)

I hate to interrupt the high-fiving session, but there is plenty of fraud being perpetrated on the VA. I've met more than one 100% disabled vet with no visible injuries. Just because someone served in the military doesn't mean they aren't capable of being a douche.

The best thing for him would be to have the doctor take him out on disability because of his hips. He won't do that because he'd rather work.

I may be missing something about your story but if he is already receiving social security then he is not going to receive a higher benefit through disability. He will just be missing the small income he is getting through working.

The plural of anecdote is anecdotes. It is not "data".

The article is basically garbage because its information content is not far from zero. It is designed to inflame the ignorant, and apparently it succeeded.

the obvious starting fault is that the disabled veteran receiving that $1000 benefit could also be receiving food stamp assistance. And if he's (or she) starving, I would hope he does. He deserves it as much as the children of these uneducated examples.

And as usual, it shows that no matter how much you think education costs, non education is worse. These mothers do not come out ahead finacially with additional children, nor does society. Same with 'saving' money by not providing contraceptives, abortions, or meaningful sexual health education - something beyond abstinence works BS.

Very few media outlets don't report stories in a manner that causes some level of emotional response from its readers. That being said claiming it is intended to inflame the ignorant is an ignorant statement itself. Change can't happen if you don't inspire the people to make their voice heard and the bet way to do that is through emotion.

Its hard to argue that there isn't something wrong with our country when able bodied people are allowed to do nothing and receive just as much if not more than people who gave all and have the desire to continue to work but not the ability.

The welfare system is wrong in so many ways. I'm not saying it should go away completely, but it news a serious overhaul to stop the lazy from benefitting.
History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.

The article is garbage.

A vet who is 100% service-connected will on average collect between $4-5K/month between VA Disability and Social Security - both of which are nontaxable and un-assignable. A Vet who is =>70% and can not find employment due to their service-connected disability can apply as "unemployable" and receive 100%. In many states, that 100% vet will not pay property, sales, motor vehicle, etc. taxes.
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I suspect your factual post will get lost in all the outrage and chest thumping.
