Thanks all, seems like I can't go wrong with Tikka, Rem, or Savage. I'll see what the local shop has and just see what sort of a deal I can get. I'll basically be shooting it out of the box - not really interested in too much customisation.

In that case, see if you can handle all three. They each have a slightly different "feel." Weight, balance, stock configuration.
See which one fits you best. And see what kind of deal they are willing to offer.

You really won't go wrong with any of them.

My vote is the savage. I have a 300 win mag that is spot on. Granted the glass on it was about twice the cost of the rifle used.
