smiles 0 #1 July 9, 2013 why is breaking a leg landing while promoting the sport of skydiving reported as "landed to fast" or had a "hard landing???" no excuse, Skyhawks..you have no business doing a demo if you cannot land safe. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2013/07/07/calgary-stampede-parachuter-injured.htmleustress. : a positive form of stress having a beneficial effect on health, motivation, performance, and emotional well-being. CanuckInUSA 0 #2 July 9, 2013 In the video I saw from one of the local TV stations last night (Global News) here in Calgary, you do not see very much deflection on the tail of the canopy. Looks like he didn't flare or if he did it was too late. He appears to have pounded in. These military demonstration units are not always the most experienced jumpers compared to the guys/gals who work in the business, who jump every day and who also do demos. Oh and the media (as usual) have been a complete joke concerning this incident. But mistakes happen, we are all human. It's just that most of the time there isn't thousands of people watching when you pound in. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Sucks that he broke his leg, though... guess he is out of the team for the rest of the season...Why drive myself crazy trying to be normal, when I am already at crazy? Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone

normiss 622 #6 July 9, 2013 He should be happy they didn't treat him like they do the horses at Stampede when they break a leg.
