Incorrect. Did you know there are 2.8 million guns legally owned in the UK.

Weird - the story I read never mentioned the victim's condition.

You're very correct.

To get back to the point you were trying to make:

Interesting the way the word 'terror' is being tossed about these days.

I would agree that "Terror" is a loose term. But what is terror? Is it not terror when a group of anarchist thugs vandalize a business they dislike and then proceed to burn down a neighboring condo complex all because they hate rich people (or at least hate people who were able to secure a mortgage through a bank to purchase the condos)? Or is terror only allowed to be used when people are killed under certain circumstances? Yes it is a loose term, but I thought terror existed when people were afraid because some sort of violent act was perpetrated against them or their property.

Stupid and inappropriate comment.

Whose workplace is John Wilson St., Woolwich, Marc? Have you ever been there? I have.

>Attempted murder?

You can't call it 'attempted murder.' If you call it anything other than terrorism you'll be pummelled senseless by the right wingers.

seems like you started this yesterday by insisting on a silly literal meaning for 'workplace violence.' So now I think we expect this to show up in threads for weeks rather than have intelligent conversation on the actual subjects.

I would have to disagree. The suspects were praising Allah and telling passerby to "leave our lands".

I think it's pretty silly to deny that violence in the workplace is not violence in the workplace, and that such language should be banned. Only the politically correct term "terrorism" is allowed, no matter where it occurred.

Indeed; it is what many people here specialize in.

Words have meanings. That's why humans are mostly able to communicate effectively.

Fort Hood was indeed the work place of Major Nidal Malik Hasan.

Unless they were street cleaners or hookers, I doubt that a Woolwich street was the workplace of the perps, and certainly not the work place of a British Army soldier.

Let me help you out here. You see the BHO administration would classify this act as work place violence, as in the Ft Hood terrorist shooting. This is a tongue-in-cheek comment requiring some imagination and/or other capability for abstract thought.

Hope this helps. :)

Sure makes it easier to apply a label and then respond accordingly.
[:/]

Looks like attempted murder to me.

Maybe folks would be more comfortable calling these specific terrible attacks "ideological violence". The thing that gets people seems to be the motivation. They attacked a soldier in a public and gruesome manner with the specific intent of forcing change in London. The video shows one of the attackers explaining his (irrational) rationale for the attack. He talks about UK military influence and action in "our lands". Witnesses say they shouted Allahu Ackbar while murdering the victim.

Terrorism is inherently ideological violence. I suppose not all ideological violence is terrorism.

I'd have to agree with your point.

He forgot to mention Bosnia and Kosovo where the British Military saved countless Muslim lives though.
